  1. It is working for me now. Thanks and hav a happy new year.
  2. I am getting the error also. Have been like this all day. I am in Germany.
  3. I sure am glad the Super Dooper Deluxe Member caches don't show up for non Super Dooper Deluxe Members.
  4. You could just have it published with out the charity info and then once published put the charity info in. I'm just saying.
  5. Key word being "eventually". Not really a big deal. I agree it would be nice if there was quick way to delete all or all found geocaches while from a menu on the device.
  6. Why would you need to? Once you mark them as found you don't see them anyway right?
  7. Well it finally happened, I lost something important on a long trail. Was out on a new 8 KM caching trail in Homburg Gemany and after finding the final bonus cache I realized that my car key was missing! Luckily I keep my car key on its own ring so I did not lose any other keys. There was really no way of retracing the entire 8 KMs since it was getting dark. Glad I was caching with a friend who drove me 45 KM home to get the extra key and back to my SUV. What important things (besides your mental health) have you lost while caching?
  8. Yeah GS should really make those vehicle TB numbers more visable. I had at least two people pull up beside me and ask me to stop or slow down so they could read it. I finally when to a place that make vinyl graphics and had some ones made that are much easier to see.
  9. I am 99% sure that you can.. But the Knowledge Book only say "Making yourself trackable is an easy process. Simply purchase a set of Travel Bugs from Shop Groundspeak or one of Groundspeak's Official Distributors. Activate the Travel Bug set and then include the tracking code as part of the design for your tattoo. It is important that you do not send the travel bug set out in geocaches, as it will cause confusion. Since you are the trackable, other geocachers must see your tattoo in person in order to 'discover' you on Geocaching.com. Once you have your tattoo, Groundspeak can give you the custom Travel Bug Tattoo icon on the website. Send an email to pr@Groundspeak.com and include a photo of the tattoo that clearly shows the tracking number. The icons are typically updated within a week of receiving your email." http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=315 I emailed the code that I wanted to use to the email address above to verify that my code was ok to use before I had it tattooed to my body.
  10. You can user the code from any trackable you own to include geocoins.
  11. If you save the cache to the iPhone or while you have Internet access and select save images you would be able to view them even when you are offline. You do mean iPhone and not iPod right.
  12. What we need is Geocoin that has some electronic way of knowing it has been stolen, or just not moved on by a newby. This special coin should explode with powerful force if not placed into a cache within a reasonable amount of time....like say...three months. An audio and visual warning and instructions need to be part of the coin so that whoever picks it up knows exactly what is expected of them. This will also help blind or deaf cachers (and YES, there are blind cachers). If they do not follow the instructions in the allotted amount of time then BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!! They and their house or apartment are gone. The owner of the cache can not be held responsible for the loser's....I mean new cacher's for geocoin thief's death, because they were warned that the object they are holding is dangerous if not handled correctly. I think this is just like a person operating a car...we all know they are dangerous and we could kill ourselves with them if we do not follow the warnings in the owners manual. Yet people are killed in them everyday through there own fault. I think the number of exploding Geocoin deaths would be far lower then the number of yearly automobile fatalities. I think this would help if the problem of missing or stolen geocoins.
  13. See my post signature. I no longer get upset about lost or stolen trackables. I have released over 150 TBs and only 1 GC. I have over 50 GCs in my collection and will NEVER release another GC because it WILL end up missing or stolen. But.....for any missing TB or GC I create another trackable item with the trackable code. I don't create or send out proxy coins beccause I don't like them. I stamp the code into a dog tag, attach some worthless object to it and send it on its way. I wish GS would sell just the codes to individuals. If they did this I would just make my own trackables and save some money. *unapproved link removed by moderator*
  14. Here is another method and a good tutorial. Wait until the end for Waypoint Averaging.
  15. Go to the Waypoint Averaging menu and create the waypoint there. When you start the waypoint averaging hold the device in the air until it reaches 100% and then save the coordinates. This usually gives you very good coordinates. Plus remember....ALWAYS check your waypoint by walking 50 meters or so away and then navigate to it using the coordinates of the waypoint you created.. If it is not taking you to where you want to go then redo them..
  16. Mine is finished now. The bug was done a few months ago and the flames were finished about one hour ago. The inside of part of flames is yellow but it is hard to see now because it is still bleeding.
  17. Great coins! I got mine ordered and got the last three Ruby Fire ones!
  18. A famous evil knight once said, "Wareagle59, you have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. Come back when you are worthy."
  19. I agree with Tuena. Customers should not be a product Guinea pig and Garmin should have fully tested this product instead of rushing it to the consumer. It is hard to get customers back once they have been burned and go to a competing company. IMHO Garmin should stop selling them until they get the things working right. Sure, people expect problems with anything 1st gen item but by three swaps I would want a refund. Very happy with my new GPSMAP 62 ST. Does everything the Montana does but I don't have to worry about my screen becoming uncalibrated and the entire device becoming unusable.
  20. Sure they have. I have a friend who ran into one back in the late 70's and I saw one myself just a few months ago.
  21. Happens to me every time. Guess it is just something we have to live with.
  22. My first coin drop was actully four coins into a cache I had just created. They were all four of the Micro Four Elements Coins and released on 18 Oct 2010. All four are trackable. The log is here - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=458d6d0f-f89d-4726-babb-648c4cf0852c The four coins are here: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3014983 (Earth) - Mac314 picked it up in April and won't reply to emails to release it. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3014825 (Fire) - Went missing in March 2011 http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3015090 (Water) - This cache has not been found since the coin was dropped in back in June 2011 http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3014875 (Wind) - Still moving and is in France
  23. I make video prevews of my own caches. You can see them in my GermanyBert channel.
  24. Yes, over time there may not be space close to where you live. A few caches that I have made had to be moved because of the distance rule. I think most people here will not agree with you that the distance should be shortened. I like probably 95% of all caches I find, even micros and nanos in uniteresting locations. But shortening the distance would, IMHO, only drive up the number of of micros and nanos at uninteresting locations. I am sure if you check out the geocaching map for your area you can find a place to put yours within driving distance.
