Ive added my own personal rule to that list: wear gloves, loxoscelism is not fun.

PLEASE watch where you step!

ive seen flowers trampled and ive seen light posts all scraped to death due to lifting skirts. i actually found myself sitting in my car chuckling at the 3 light poles surrounding me with 4-5 inches of rusty scrape marks on their otherwise unblemished paint ... and the cache wasnt even under them. definitely not destroyed but certainly damaged. i cant say, as a manager of a hotel, that id be necessarily upset about my light posts though i would be terribly upset if someone walked all over our incredibly pricey landscaping because someone hid a tupperware jar in my bushes. -
i use the 255w to store the notes, logs, and hints and also to get me within driving range of the cache but ill always use my etrex to walk the rest of the way. i dropped my nuvi and scratched it all up and now i have no choice but to have a sadface. if youre going to keep using it just remember to set it to pedestrian mode else itll keep trying to put you to the closest road, at least mine does. it works though! also, i use the GSAK for the nuvi. its great for doing things paperless.

Hopefully you're not going to use the mason jars for geocaches. Glass is a no-no. naw, glass isnt good for sitting outside. its pretty useful for organising my velcro, magnets, screws, and bolts, though.

Big Lots has it, I bought, like, 5 rolls for 7$ there. Also picked up a 12 pack of mason jars for 6$

as a non-paying member you can only get 10 (?) at a time per search in a .LOC file, which only has limited information about the caches

I dont have an issue with the website, how its run, or its performance. I was just assuming a way he may be arbitrarily coming up with stats. perhaps he just read the bottom of the main web page, also. There are 823,345 active caches worldwide. In the last 7 days, there have been 658,768 new logs written by 84,170 account holders. Check out the recent logs or photos.

Strange Occurrences While Caching
HayfeverTX replied to hiker2.0's topic in General geocaching topics
I put up my first cache and a tornado blew through. Sorry, Flower Mound, Texas. -
I almost gave up on one that seemed like it would be simple. I went back 5 times to look, and my gps was dead-on within 10ft and still couldnt find it. Out of frustration I just stood there admiring the park and it caught my eye in plain sight. I had a total facepalm moment as I was imagining it being a lot harder than it actually was. Same with an LPC I had problems with, turned out the access panel on the side of it was a magnetic facade. dadgum sneaky cachers!

Id be very interested in an Android platform application. ( yes, I have read http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=219966 )

OK to place cache 4000 miles away from home?
HayfeverTX replied to davidbaxley's topic in How do I...?
Id have enjoyed doing caching while I was working between Tok and Anchorage, though I did almost get eaten once. -
just this morning i took a cactus to the leg. fortunately i missed out on the coyotes that were just there previously. large paw prints fresh in the dirt is never a good sign.

ive found the majority of the 19 ive logged just by looking at the site. most of the time i dont even print out the sheet, i just try to remember where it was to make it more fun. when i get a decent handheld gps ill venture more into the wooded areas.
