Allow me to suggest that the newbee label be discarded once a team has a dozen or so caches and/or three months of activity. I make this suggestion in the spirit of debate and discussion. Discuss amoungst yourselves.

Guess I did... but I know the geocacher that did it and I'm reluctant to get into this with them so...

I love it. It's a great improvement to the page. I instantly recognized what it was and now I can screen for crappy micros.

You might also get animals ripping your cache to shreads. Happened to me.

Could be a puppy. How did it get the cache open? Tupperware container. Did it smell food?

Recently, one of my caches was trashed. Teeth marks on everything. Stuffed ripped to shreds. Many cache items missing. At first I was angry. I thought some animal with opposable thumbs went nuts on my cache. But after thinking about it, it might have been a coyote or a dog. Last entry in the log, which I found, was "left two sticks of..." (illegible). Anyone out there have experience with this sort of thing? What would cause a dog to go Section 8 on my cache? Food? Why would a dog tear up the cache note?

I've had two virtuals where I emailed the requested information and 23 days later, I'm still waiting for a reply. Of course, I don't know if the owners left town or are just being inconsiderate but it's annoying. Also, should I count these as found? How long do I give them? I'd just like to hear what your thoughts are.

I'm guessing this isn't new but I'm sure you'll tell me if it isn't. Lately I have found some TB's without information sheets. I know I can bring them home, log in and find out the details but while I'm out there I'm making a decision on whether or not to take it. I don't know where the bug is going so I'm not sure it's a good idea to take it. All TB's should have info sheets.

Not really. We did have an event last Feb. at Pizza hut which attracted a number of local cachers. However nothing organized since then. Of course this does not keep us from starting something up. A mailing list. A monthly meeting. Personally I would like to see us in the Lafayette area get organized enough that we could host a geo-event (dare we think of the InGeo spring picnic?) in Indiana's newest state park -- Prophetstown. Assuming we get permission, of course. It would be a nice way to introduce the park to everyone else in the state. Enthusiasum on the part of one person does not go very far. Unfortunately my geo-buddy with whom I planned the Feb. event has had very little time for geo-caching for the last 6 months and thus we have done very little to get the Lafayette area more organized. If any one from the area wishes to provide some enthusaisum and push then let me know and I'll help. Yeah, sounds good. I'd like to help. Who else is out there?

Man, it would be great if you could fix me up. I'm Paul and my wife is Joy so we use "Joypa" because we are both Penn State grads. (The great football coach Joe Paterno is Joepa--get it?)I have this avatar but it really doesn't do much for me. Any ideas?
