I sympathize with your situation. Still waiting.....
  2. I Love Micros! I love micros That's the cache for me When I hunt the micros It's something I can't see Take me to a lamp post Beside a busy street I stand there acting normal To anyone I meet I'm holding my GPSr And gazing at the screens My waypoint keeps on moving I wonder what it means? Some people are now staring At me as if I'm nuts I want to keep on looking But I haven't got the guts I smile at the people As if to reassure But I don't think there're buying My natural allure I guess I'd better move on Before they call the cops It's either that or disconnect The post's bottom from its tops Okay, they're gone, I got it And now I start to write If I hurry I can put it back There's no one else in site Oh, good, I get a smilie After all, that is the aim I can't wait to post it And get back to the game I see a Walmart parking lot In which a micro's placed I think I'll go there next I hope I don't get maced
  3. This forum is downright tame compared to some other forums I've seen. Forum angst can be entertaining in the same way a car wreck is. It's horrible but you just can't look away. Now, let's talk about micros...
  4. I'm lazy. Where can I find the complete up-to-date ISQ rankings.
  5. A pile of parallel sticks is certainly a useful hint.
  6. Let's see....yes, no but good idea, no, no, yes. Thanks!
  7. Let's see....wife brings that and I do not, yep, nope but good idea, never, no but if it's hunting season this would be a must, yep, yep, no we use bottled water and yes. Hmmm... Thanks for the ideas.
  8. Here we go again! Micros-Gosh! There're fine and dandy.
  9. Yes, I use the hints, but, sometimes I am absolutely amazed what can be done without one. I was 40 miles from home last weekend and saw I waypoint I had no information on. Despite this, I went to check it out. It turned out to be a pretty well hidden micro and we went right to it. I think a little experience can lead a cacher to a cache. You just start looking in the obvious places after you've been doing it for awhile.
  10. Let's not consider this a "whine" and cheese party, OK? I've cleaned out my local area and the nearest caches I have not found are a hair short of 30 miles away. I'm still gonna go caching but logistics and fuel economy are starting to be factors. I was wondering how many of you are in a similar situation and what tips you have on planning for these road trips.
  11. This about says it for me. I don't care what your numbers are. You don't care what mine are. If I have evidence that someone is cheating, all that happens is that they lose my respect.
  12. I have been to many bridge caches. The covered bridges could have caches right on them because they are lightly travelled or not travelled at all. I did run into one cache on a regular roadway bridge that was in the bridge itself. While permitted, I thought it was a bad idea.
  13. Pardon me, but I must address this. Suppose, for example, on a scale of 1 to 10, seventeen of his finds rated a 10 and the other one hundred were 1's. The average in that case would be just over 2, and only the top seventeen would be above average. On the other hand, seventeen 10's, fifty 5's, and fifty 1's average to just over 4, so all but the bottom fifty would be above average. I'm assuming a normal bell curve. In the absence of any real facts, this seems reasonable.
  14. If you have 117 finds then 58 of them are better than average.

Can't be one of your's you are talking about, is it?!?!? Looks like you only have 1 of six Tbs missing, the the other 5 have all had activity in the last 6 weeks...not bad at all!! Ed Yeah, I'm talking about mine. So? I have five out there and four are in someone's hands---Two are going on six weeks. All are now over the recommended two weeks. One is gone for good. I'm not too upset about it but I would never hold someone's bug for six weeks (go ahead and check). Please, Ed, stay away from my bugs.
  16. Reading this thread, I am reminded that any technology can be used for good or for ill. A GPSr is no exception. Laws get made based on the behavior of those who choose to behave badly and the rest of us are stuck with the results. I guess this could lead to a ban on GPSr units. I sure hope not. The best any of us can do is be aware of these things and help wherever we can.
  17. Are there any statistics to back up this micro cache trend people are lamenting? I've only been in this for 13 months so I can't see any trend. Around here, if its in town, it's probably a micro and if its in the woods, it's probably an ammo can or a tupperware container. If it's in a cemetary, it could be either. Your experience will be different than mine, depending on where you live. Seems like you need some stats if you are going to complain about micros. Mee, too.
  18. That is a great story. I have a Meridian Gold and I am very familiar with the boomerang effect. I used to consistently overrun the cache. Now, when I get to within 150 feet on the GPSr, I stop and wait. If I'm with my buddies, they are already tearing to the proper location and it pi***s me off! I have learned to be patient so I do not dive into the river or march over the cliff...but it is still a pain in the a**.

You know who you are: Put the freakin' TB in a cache, will ya. You've been holding it way too long.
  20. I must remember never to lend you anything.
