  1. I get the eye (crossed out) for the ALC that I created and tested on that device. It does not appear like that on my other devices.
  2. I have an earthcache geocoin that I bought from the Earthcache website and GSA. How do I activate it since no instructions came with it?
  3. I had a situation arise wherein the answers provided to the simple questions were so far from being correct that I wondered if the answere had actually visited the site. I checked to see if he had logged any closeby regular caches, and he had. I accepted the log, but I really wondered, since the questions were pretty simple and the answers were just really wrong. Does anyone have a solution when this comes up again? Thanks.
  4. I found the interface to be all right, once I figured out how to optimize it. There are instructions somewhere in one of the forums on how to add photos. I followed the instructions and it worked fine. The body of the text was done in MS Word and then just pasted in. I went back later and added the HTML codes that I needed for extra lines, spaces, etc. (It had been years since I had used the codes and I had to relearn them.) I will experiment some more later, but it all seemed pretty easy, once I got going. The approval was so fast. It arrived while I was still adding the photos into the text at the right spots. i was very surprised and pleased.
  5. I agree. It has taken me between 8 and 20 hours to develop each earthcache. That includes the time needed to obtain the permission for the land owner/operator.
  6. My first EC was the green sand beach on the Big Island in Hawai'i. It was so interesting and now I am hooked. After that experience I set the goal to reach the platinum level. It took seven months, but I made it. But is was Daniel's EC in Hawai'i that inspired me.
  7. I just received platinum level last week. I only learned of geocaching last April and then only learned about earthcaches in June. But I was hooked. So, I found 20 -- Hawaii, California, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Switzerland, Germany. I had the second and third EC ready to go when the freeze on submittals came. It was a long wait, but that is now past. When I submitted the third EC, geoaware approved it within 15 minutes. i was still uploading the diagrams when the approval came through. ECs have renewed a longstanding, but not developed, interest in geology from many years ago. Everywhere I go, I think of what kind of geological formation would be interesting to me and to others. It is just too cool.
  8. I am totally impressed. I submitted one early this morning when I got up. I was approved before I had completed adding the diagrams. Thanks.
  9. I submitted one on 12 Jan, but no word yet. You certainly would be better off from that point of view when your Earth cache were in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. geoawareDE is publishing Earth caches at an incredibly fast rate at the moment (already more than 80 published Earth caches just by him - however at the apparent expense of not being able to read all the text in detail). Cezanne Not a big deal, just anxious to get going. I have another one for which the permission will be issued this week. A third one should be ready in a couple of weeks. Just thought of two new ones on Monday. I am excited that the process is going again. Submitted one approved yesterday without incident. This allowed me to request Gold status. I completed the on-line form and the approval was returned instantly. Too cool.

  12. No changes as of Monday, 11 Jan, 8:15 MST. Waiting anxiously......
  13. Looks like today is not the day. Bummer. I hope that this delay isn't causing a backlog of entries. I know I have a couple ready to post, just waiting on the word to go. So, I got hooked on geocaching last April. In Hawai'i, I hit the first earthcache. Then I was really hooked on the geology aspect. I was really intrigued and set a goal of obtaining platinum level as quickly as I could. Beacuse I travel a lot for work and pleasure, I was able to wrap up the 20 earthcache requirement last month. But, aaargh, I cannot sunmit the earthcaches that I have developed and have permissions for. So, for me the wait is all that more frustrating. Oh well, "patience is a virtue hard to come by."

  15. I guess it is not today either. Bummer.
  16. This week maybe. I have three new ones ready to go. I have just been waiting for the new system.
  17. Sure, if you have any in Southern Arizona.
  18. So, is the exact date of the beginning of the new system established?
