  1. Radio 4 did a really good afternoon play all about letterboxing a few months ago. I didnt know anything about it before I heard this, & have to admit thought that it sounded a bit...um...er...RUDE (said in a Black Adder kind of way!) I thought it was something to do with partner swapping in lay byes...which again I learnt all about off the radio!!

  2. Good vid S.P! :)

We did Ben Nevis last September, but it was only when we got home I found there were caches up there....bah!

We started off at about 8.30am, & arrived at the top 4 1/2 hrs later. We had fantastic weather, & could see for miles, I think we were very lucky to have picked one of the rare good days to do our climb!

On the way back down, once the sun had started to set, we were amazed at the amount of idiots in their shell suits & trainers still making their way up....I can see why The Mountain Rescue people are kept so busy!

  3. Back on topic, my The Wicker Man - A missing child is always trouble micro/traditional cache took three months and two DNFs to find. It is in Scotland, but it's not that remote. There's been another DNF since, but I'm sure it's still there.

Im worried now that we were just being a bit thick & managed to miss it, as we take full responsibility for logging the second of the DNF's.Mind you though, my GPS was really playing up & kept sending me all over the place!

  4. Shep (my hubby) is actually 'Shep's Pup', he used to have this on the front of his lorry. His dad was known as Shep, as he used to wear a hat with floppy ears on it that made him look like the Blue Peter dog of the 1970'2, Shep. When hubby was a little lad, he'd go to work with his dad, & was therefore known as Shep's Pup!

Mine is nowhere near as interesting...Seren is Welsh for star with I think is a bit more interesting than my real name, Rachael.

Ive just changed our user name from Shep & Seren to Shep Seren & Tess Dog, as when I originally came on here, we were kind of 'inbetween' dogs. But seeing as Tess Dog always gets a mention, it seemed right that we include her in the name!

  5. LOL...Thats me being paranoid!

We had a fabaroonie time away, in fact, I have been very busy today submitting 2 caches that we placed whilst we were there.Ive also had a bit of a fiddle & got a picture on our profile now as well...Its only taken me 18 months to work out how to do it. *sigh*

  6. ...Just a thought: We know a couple of local cachers who rarely look at this Forum...so when the book arrives with us would it be OK to show them the book and ask them if they'd like to fill a page? As long as we were responsible for it? Or would you rather keep it strictly to those people on your list? I would guess that most people on your list could probably find "an extra cacher" to add to the book if it would help to fill it.

Would you be talking about us by any chance?! :)

After about 18 months...Ive only just worked out how to get on the forum....doh, Im so thick at times!

Anyhoo, Ive mailed you back Us 4 as we'd love to be included in both the TB's!

  7. I think some local cachers (SE Wales) Shep & Seren might be interested in doing this, with Tess-Dog. I know they're away on holiday at the moment, back in a week or so, I believe... Could you put them on your list as "possibles"? and I'll let them know about this thread as soon as they return. Thanks!

    Mrs B

Yes please...we'd love to be included!! :(

Many thanks to The Blorenges who just mailed me about this!

Tess Dog would love the opertunity of getting her paws muddy & doing doggie prints on a log book, she'd think that was great. We live in Newport, S.Wales if thats any help to you. We are off to Scotland on our hols from tomorrow, but will be back in a weeks time.

  8. Hello, Im new too!

We accidently stumbled on a cache in S. Scotland back in March, & decided that this was the hobby for us! We are both terrified of technology (I can just about manage v. basic stuff on a computer, but hubby is totally lost) So we needed a v. basic & user friendly GPS, so we bought a brand new Gecko 101 one off E Bay for £60 - (I think that would be app $100).Weve had it for a bout a week now, & we are getting along just fine with it.We went off for the weekend to the south coast, & managed to find 3 caches straight away!

So all in all, we are very happy with our purchase!
