  1. Not much time for caching in the winter. This is Vermont. Free time in the winter is spent shredding down the slopes on my atomic skis. I can't wait for snow!
  2. Just a note for all you guys that had Jeeps back in the day. In 2001 they redid the soft top and the heater unit. The soft top is now almost as quiet as a hard top and I don't get a drop of rain inside unless of course I get stuck out in the rain with the top down. I live in the Burlington Vermont area and the heater works so well I have to turn it down even when its 35 below zero outside. Check out a new Jeep. I promise you will love it. Better offroad in stock form than the old CJs and YJs every dreamed of being. Coil suspension ,baby! By the way, I also own a 2002 Pathfinder for when we desperatley need the air conditioning which isn't a whole lot up here in Vermont. Today is July 24th and we just had our first day in the 90s three days ago. Today it is 71. Go jeeping! Caching too!
  3. I had my Wrangler for a year before I heard about Geocaching. I actually discovered the sport while reading Jeep's magazine. My Jeep is red and is 13 months old and has all of 7000 miles on it. I love it.
  4. I have seen alot of comments on these forums about Vermonts lack of caches. However, when I checked the 5 mile radius for Williston(05495), Vermont it came up with 29. Better than some numbers I have seen here. I am new to geocaching and plan on recruiting more people so the numbers here should continue to grow. At least if I can help it.
  5. Cool! Thanks everyone. I figured there was probably an e-zine out there somewhere but I was unable to find it with a search engine. Thanks for the link. I had the same thought about enough cash flow to support a mag. Then again, there are people playing this game all around the world. Maybe after its had a chance to grow a bit more it will be feasible. It is easier for me to carry a magazine to work then my computer that's the main reason I was thinking in the hard copy realm. P.S.-Don't worry about the "too late bucko" comment. I have been a noob on enough forum boards that I am not easily bothered by getting flamed. All part of the learning.
  6. Has anyone ever thought about or discussed creating and publishing a Geocaching magazine? Does one already exist and I just can't find it? I think it would be interesting to have a mag that could handle GPS reviews and other geocaching related product testing as well as geocaching specific features. There are mags that review this type of equipment but it isn't applied to geocaching. It would help, I think, to have a geocaching specific magazine sitting on the news stand. It would be a good way to introduce even more people to this very cool game. What do you all think?
  7. Would a Palm M505 work? Not familiar with the Palms and uploading data so if the question is dumb I apologize. Thanks for your help.
  8. I would be using it for geocaching the majority of the time. That is my only real reason for getting one. I live in northern Vermont so the amount of memory available for maps is not a huge deal.(Not a lot to map) From what I have been reading here in the forums the Legend sounds like the best bet so far. Anybody got any other suggestions?
  9. Hey all. I am new to geocaching as well. I came to the forums to ask this exact question so figured I would hop in here. Any other opinions on the best GPS to buy under 250 bucks for a novice that plans on sticking with geocaching? As you can tell by the max price I am not looking for the high end but I don't want the bottom of the barrel either. Looking for something that I can use as a beginner but will still be able to grow into as I get more expeirence. Thanks for the help.
