I would like to report a bug. When you go to your log there is a possibility to upload a picture. Then you get in a screen with title "Upload a Geocache Log Image". Under "File" in bold there is button with text "Browse". On the right hand side of the button there is text with default "No file selected". The colour of that text is now the same as the colour of text in the browser menu, in my case Firefox. The rest of all text-items on the page is black. In my case my text colour in the browser-menu is yellow (on black background). In the screen I see "No file selected" as yellow on white which makes it unreadable. I suggest to set the text colour of this item also to black, the same as the other text items in this page/screen.

I'm using the script by ChileHead. Since a week or so, a log has only 1 or 2 lines after being processed by the google script. I assume that HQ has changed something in the layout of the mail. What can I do about this?

Desperately needed: an innovation to remove the pain of trying to follow up on a TB you once crossed paths with. Wading through pages of took-it-to, took-it-to, took-it-to is NO fun and has sucked the pleasure out of that little side-game. Did I drop it off in Hong Kong on Page 24, or Page 60, aah I don't care anymore. +1

One more example. I love travel bugs. I have placed 350 out in the wild to follow them and I hope finders will enjoy them and pass them to the next cache. There used to be a website called geotrib.es where I could follow all of my travel bugs that were running around. This website is gone. I haven't set out any travelbugs in the past 2 years anymore because the fun is gone. And there is no TB-innovation or website-improvement in sight to get back the fun in spreading travel bugs.

I have received 8700+ discoverlogs on my travelbugs that are really travelling. They just go in my google spam filter. And given the content of most of the discover logs, I think those who write these discover logs don't care about that. But I also have a handful of personal goodies with trackable codes. These trackables have discover logs that I care about but for that I go the the trackable page to read them back.

I just delete the took it to logs on my trackables. When I want to see the geocaching history of a cacher I just go to his/her profile, no need to have that connected with my trackables.

I'm looking for any controlled test of a series of handheld gps vs a series of smartphones (not just the iphone but also the others). Plus detailed information about the internal gps-chipset, antenna, firmware and which application that has been used. Plus information about the circumstances (which gps-satellites and weather conditions were available?). Before that, a discussion if black cars are faster than red cars will never end.

I think this is a very good point. Not so much the negative side but rather the positive side. Encourage good behaviour for geocachers on travelbugs with a rating points. Also for caches/cacheowners: caches that help to move travelbugs fast (instead of keeping them for long time or even go missing) might get extra points. And prizes (like travel bug tags) if you have passed a very good rating mark.

This is not permitted by the guidelines because it turns a "Hotel" into a "Prison." Travel Bugs are meant to travel and no cache owner is permitted to put restrictions on their travel. Here in the Netherlands, this is allowed by the reviewers.

A TB-hotel is a type of geocache in which travelbugs are collected by a cache-owner. The cache owner thinks such a cache may be more attractive for geocachers when it has travelbugs. Sometimes additional rules are created which states that a certain amount of travelbugs should always remain in such a cache to prevent travel bugs from traveling.

How about releasing some travel bugs? Then we all find more travelbugs out.

Here they are: This is inscribed on the TB. Log the Tracking Number online, as a Discovery. Honest Geocachers (is that an oxymoron? ) would provide more info in such a log, such as "I didn't actually have the item in my possession", because otherwise, it's confusing to TB Owners to see "Discover" logs from the whole planet, while the TB is still in a cache near home. Obviously the intent of that guideline is that the finder, regardless of where he saw the Tracking Number, would log the Tracking Number as completely and honestly as possible. And the TB Owner would post any special instructions on the TB page, and these wishes would be honored. There is also a guideline that activated TBs are not to be stolen, nor sold against the wishes of the Owner. The TB is inscribed "Don't Keep Me", not subject to interpretation, yet interpreted as "Keep it, trash it, or sell it". So in practice there are no guidelines, but we can review them as you wish. Are these your guidelines, or the official guidelines?

After too many "false logs", some arbitrary number, TBs have been unilaterally locked by Groundspeak, allowing no further logs. I don't know of any being unlocked once that occurs. The guideline is that the TB Owner must manage logs, remove false logs, etc. And that TPTB have the ultimate control over TBs. Where can I find these guidelines?

And what are the official guidelines/rules for a TB-owner to accept discover logs or refuse them?
