  1. Mustard Devil it will be good to see again in Franklin, you are my other Cooper buddy. It should be cool inside. JOE
  2. Yep I found that one and also found the chiseled square and took a picture of it to GB1864 I know you are new to bench mark hunting but before you go question another player about his finds and if its still there get a few under you belt so you will be more knowledgeable of the types and where to look by the directions given on the benchmark page along with you gps. Happy hunting. JOE If you like the next time you are in Nashville let me know and I will take you to see a few different ones [This message was edited by JoGPS on July 20, 2003 at 08:11 AM.]
  3. WOW this is Tooooooooooooooo COOL JOE
  4. Sure come on to Nashville but I don’t think you could shut up long enough to find any caches. Heeeeeeeeeee Heeeeeeeeee ………….. JOE
  5. On my 1995 Chevy Truck CACKE TK It was a travling cache but got archived. JOE
  6. I just loved Woodsters Outdoors comment, “It's not like i'm placing and maintaining caches in the other areas. ?“ That’s right just posting on every topic in the forums that’s about all!!! Heeeeee Heeeeee JOE
  7. They ate one time on the road and had one official bathroom stop. This is one of the things I love about the sport you can do it so many different ways like Speed Caching not unlike speed golf. This was not about a nice hike in the woods or a nice view it was about how many caches they could find in a day. It was FUN, to me anytime you have the opportunity to share geocaching stories and experiences with your fellow geocacher’s is a blast. The 115 was for Saturday they also hunted Friday and Sunday but that’s another story The day would not have been possible without the magic of Robert Lipe that cooked the data for us……………JOE
  8. Wooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooo 115 caches in one VERY LONG day there were 104 caches where they all signed the log books and 11 virtuals . This was quite an experience the second we arrived at a caches site before the geovan even stopped they would be out running to the cache to see who could find it first, all except one time where the van was left out of gear and with me in the back seat it kept on trucking . We did not split up or anything like that they went to every site together, I stayed in the van 80% of the time and they asked for no hints. The only time I got out was to take a smoke or take a lxxk They found less than 30 1 / 1 rated caches the secrete was the cache density ( zip 37219 ) we did the north side of town and only went downtown at 11:00 that night to do a mutli-stage and some virtuals and ended up at the Bi-Centennial Mall ( there was a cache there ) and listen to the bells at midnight to finish up our fantastic day of caching, they found their first cache at 6:15 that morning. There was also 4 no finds. Lynn aka CCCooper, Lucy aka SBUX and Patrick aka Paddy Yenar thanks for the truly wonderful day we spent together Ya ll had me laughing all day Looooooooooooong. JOE

  10. Yes defiantly hunt one that already has been found , I was in a area yesterday that I had found three benchmark radio towers and now they are being taken down for a new shopping center. I logged them again as destroyed. In these days of bulldozers and malls they are falling fast and need to be rechecked……………JOE
  11. WELL here is the rest of the story e - s was in my area the first of May and logged about 50 caches without ever signing a log book. The local cacher’s got together and had a mass deleting day and contacted e - s about the hole thing and they deleted the rest but they also logged a hole lot of benchmarks at the same time , never a picture. If the cache finds were bogus don’t you think the benchmarks were to. WELL DA . But nobody deleted the BENCHMARKS And on another note when I travel most of the benchmarks have already been found except the virtual ones. Sometimes I take pictures some not, and never of a radio tower because they all look just about the same. I also log a lot of no finds and destroyed ones to. But that’s how I play the game, and a game it is.
  12. To have more than one set of eyes to see the cache could cut off ten minutes from each cache but that’s about all…………..JOE
  13. They really are amazing. Look back to the page on Monday and you will see a new one day cache find record made by Lynn , daughter and Patty. And I will even find a few…………..JOE
  14. Brian - Team A.I. you are sooooooooooo wrong they are a wife, husband, and children all living in one house. I will be caching with the wife and one of her daughters this weekend. JOE The way to find more caches is to get off the couch
  15. It’s just makes my day to run into other cachers on the trail………………..JOE
  16. Being a old timer is a good thing, but what have ya ll be doing while I was out caching. Heeeeee Heeeeeee JOE
  17. Here is mine click on my profile to see them. I have been asked where they come from before, this is the answer : Don Walker / UPC Specialty Advertising Phone 615-847-0133 e-mail ASAPforYou@aol.com Cost about one dollar apiece depending on how many you order at a time. If you contact them say keyword ACORN and he will know what you are asking about. I stuff my own trash bags inside. I usually don’t trade anything , just leave the CITO tote. This is also how I tell the defference between a micro and a regular cache , if it fits inside it’s a regular cache, if not, it’s a micro.
  18. It seems the only ones that are confused are BassoonPilot and umc you just simply LOG them all if you find them where ever they are at........JOE Heeeeeeee Heeeeeeee
  19. Nope it means if there are a lots or one to hunt , it does not matter if they are all 200 feet apart or five miles. If you find it, sign it, LOG it……….. JOE
  20. SIMPLE If you HUNT it , you FIND it, you Sign it, THEN LOG IT JOE
  21. I have 1900 finds and all I do is go to events that have extra caches I can log , OK lets be real its an extra treat because you did attend a event and yes it fun to be able to log some extras. But that is not the reason I went. I don’t think there is a link to this but if you had ever done an event cache with others in the area you would have been told to either do it this way or make them permanent. I see nothing wrong with this practice. JOE The way to finding more caches is to get off the couch
  22. This past weekend I co-hosted an event GeoWoodstock with four additional caches, since temporary caches are not allowed this is a way suggested by geocaching admin’s to do this type of temporary cache. These were micros that four of the cachers attending had in there pockets and we coined the phrase ( is that a cache in your pocket or are you just glad to see me ) it was a way to get fellow and fellowetts cachers to meet and greet. Our local club does the same thing but with caches hidden. …………… JOE The cache hunter found a cache and a log book ,and signed it. But only used one cache page not five.
  23. I can promise that this event will be every bit as unorganized as the original Woodstock just laid back and fun………………JOE
