  4. I thought about the power drain and using a power booster ( 50 bucks) for jump starting cars with plugging into its power port and when not using the mini light bar plug the booster into the power port of the element so it may recharge itself. The mini light bar is also magnetic, pops off and on When my wife saw she shook her head and went back into the house (grin) Did I also say I use the same setup for caching, and still no questions…………………JOE
  5. To answer 9key’s question: “Why did many of the attendees log the event as a find multiple times? Some logged 5 times” This was a very low keyed event, Show Me The Cache brought four micro’s and gave them to four different cachers and we announced that there were out ( and I think this is where the phrase “ Is That A Cache In Your Pocket Or Are You Glad To See Me” came from ) there hiding and if you found them and signed the log book it was a smiley face for them and they could log the page multiple times , at the time it was OK, things may have changed since then Quote from Jeremy Irish: “I couldn't give two hoots if someone wants to log an event cache twice. It's their find count and there is no competition here. So if you find a cache at an event, knock yourself out.” It was a great ice breaker between goecacher’s to meet others, lets face if a stranger walked up to you and said is that a cache in you pocket or are you glad to see me. It worked. If the TPTB will allow it again then, we will do it again………………..JOE
  6. It is truly an ugly truck but big folks can fit with no problem. and yes I love it Sorry did not mean for this to turn into a JoGPS thread

  12. This little BOX works well for caching and benchmark hunting and arrrrrrrrrrrr we don't get asked a lot of questions................JOE
  13. Cache machines and group hunts are way toooooooooooo cool you are out there running around with new and old friends alike and having a blast, sure the numbers are good to but for me it’s the enjoyment of playing with your peers and seeing how they hunt caches. SE7EN it looks like you need to go on a good hunt, from your stats Heeeeeee Heeeeeee ………………….. JOE
  14. I try to place all my caches where they can be checked on either on the way to work or home, if needed. There are some that are not that way , we will replace a wet log book or whatever within 10 days. The last nine days has been the strangest yet I have had eight caches come up missing, and two were members only and most of my caches are not drive by’s and are placed in out of the way areas, and they were all located in the Franklin TN area Go figure………………..JOE
  15. Thanks "BUDDY" thats way toooooooooooo cool..............JOE
  16. Jeff do you have a link to the page it sounds cool....................JOE
  17. Great job on those two marks, I agree, I do find the newer ones and the drive by’ but it’s the old one that make it all worthwhile and sooooooooooooooo cool……………JOE

    I Quit!

Well BassoonPilot in the benchmark forums there are not a lot of cheap shots like yours over here there is a lot more discussions about the topic and helping out than wanting to knock someone around. There is also not a lot of bickering between players that you seem to thrive on, so no more post from me on this subject as to keep from stirring the pot .………………JOE

    I Quit!

Don’t pay any attention to them they are both sour grapes and like to jump on newbe posters. Before you give up try one more CT1167 placed in 1908, 95 years ago and no one has found, these are the most rewarding for me. I know sometime the drive by’s will wear you down , but it the ones like this that make it all worthwhile and the sport of benchmark hunting fun. Come on now try one more, who knows it may be there waiting on you…………JOE
  23. This this is way toooooooo cool, and was hoping it would get going, as of now I do not use a palm for benchmarks but would like to know how with benchmarks. I am not that talented. If everyone could list how they do it here step by step and the programs so maybe and old fart like me could do it. like with whats is all out there to do it with Please step by step Thanks……………….JOE
  24. This a no brainer for me Briansnat was a poster when I first started looking at the forums two years ago as a loud month poster with more post than finds and always commented on everything, and really hated the guy. ( told myself I would think of a reason later ) Don’t know what happen either he mellowed or I did but now enjoy reading and thinking about all of his post. ( now they seem to make sense ) Yep its Briansnat for me and never thought I would write this……………………JOE
