  1. you could always punch up a search on a cache page like this one... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...lon=-121.806763 that will tell you if you are too close to a MOC, if it shows feet, BACK AWAY
  2. I used the ignore button on 2 caches that nearly killed me, and yes I mean LITERALLY nearly killed me. It was all on one outing and i didn't get either one.
  3. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside Im gonna go get it
  4. We have Multiple Lists, maybe you would like to advertise that as a feature that works now.
  5. that would be cool. I'd like that idea better than having MOC. I hope this comes someday soon.
  6. since part of the gpx file includes the tag... <Groundspeak:cache id="161153" available="True" archived="False" xmlns:Groundspeak="http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0"> note the archived="False" statement... I assume that would say True for archived caches
  7. I don't want you to take this bad but here it goes anyway... PQ's save you a tremendous server load, YOU SHOULD BE THANKFUL that people use them as an offline DB. I ALMOST never search on the site, I use my offline DB for researching caches to do and such. I also use them for mapping uses which means i have not checked out the GC.com maps in forever. This is also part of my offline db. Offline DB in essential for the continuing functionality of the site. Power users will not swamp the site because they are browsing their gpx files. Anyway, would archived caches in a PQ of finds include coords?!? I surely hope so since I would want to be able to map out my finds.
  8. as I always say... Now where did I set my GPS?
  9. if you are gonna use it caching it is not OT anyway, i saw a nice one at walmart
  10. How about... Search for nearest caches from your home coordinates (filter out finds) ... on your account page
  11. actually didn't the last guy get a year? i mean let's be fair about it. I say give it out as a bounty you find a site loophole and get an upgrade.... now that would rock
  12. THANK YOU, i looked at my personal TB page on a dial up recently and it took forever... when i got home i saved it and it was a 800k file, NEARLY 1mb wow, you cauld save some bandwidth.
  13. I guess i shouldn't knock it, I just need to play with it more. The <100 wpts thing bums me out. I got it for the running training aspect but I suspect I will use it for caching sooner or later. Nice page BTW
  14. This should tell you something. ask his 8 year old? that is awesome, an 8yr old web consultant
  15. that sorta is what I am doing.... except I use the tiger server, I am thinking of using google now... i gpsbabel my pq and view it using the web maps in my own customized interface.
  16. by all magellan users. A GARMIN I recently bought a garmin forerunner 201. This thing rocks. Not that good for geocaching, but I gotta give it kudos here. It 'seems' to get decent signal(no sat page) and I have not had it loose signal running yet, even under moderately heavy tree cover. It also is fairly simple to use and is comfortable to wear. I still don't plan on switching though from my Magellans tho, I like my mags.
  17. I'd rather an update from jeremy
  18. Now I know your password.... now for my trick... I pick something simple, say, 'geocaching' ill replace a letter or 2 with numbers... 'g3oc4ching' now I use my OTHER keyboard layout(the keys think they are in different spots) and it turns into this... 'u3si4ijglu' a simple word, I still type a simple word, it comes out looking like crap.
  19. I'll stick to business cards in a bottle...
  20. you are the one that said it...
  21. I still say it looks like
  22. I LOVE MY MAGELLAN GPS's I bought a 315 in early 2001. It worked flawlessly for about 14 months then one day made a squeelying noise and wouldn't work any more. I called Magellan tech support. They replaced my unit even though I was 2 months out of warranty. The replacement STILL works great. I bought a Nav Companion for my palm 515 in late 2002. I have used and abused this GPS until this spring it quit working. It sat for several months taken apart. I got up the nerve to solder on it recently and now it works again. While my Nav Comp was down in april I bought a Meridian Color. I love this unit. It seems really nice and I have not had any real problems. All 3 GPS's have had an ocassional sat loss when first getting a lock. seems to go away once a good signal is gotten. My one experience with MAG tech support was good. I just like my magellans.
  23. nah, i just decided i was being a pest.
  24. the 'contact us' button, when you mouse over it has a pic of signal up above on the page looking like he is giving you the finger. "go ahead and email us, here is what we think of your message" Just thought you might want to alter the image or not, i kinda think it is funny.
  25. a 3year old topic from the bone yard, GOOD JOB
