  1. quote: Dylan will blow the whistle to start the game Just as I read this someone blew a whistle on a radio advert. I tell you, I was nearly out in the car faster than a 100m false start at the Commonwealth Games! Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.
  2. I'm 13th December. West London. Well, we appear to have a reasonable but tightly packed defensive wall! Jar Jar Binks, a nocturnal mammal and a broken down tin robot. Excellent. I should think the opposition are quaking in their buggerboots. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.

  4. Voted me in as another player for the South. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.
  5. As one of the successful finders I'll jump in first. I don't want to give away too much but the cache isn't on private property. I know why you thought it was, as the school lies on the line between the main road and the cache. If your co-ordinates were placing it right in the school grounds then either your answers were slightly wrong or the gps was tracking inaccurately. On the subject of logging clues as finds I mainly agree, having spent a number of hours finding all the parts required getting one find logged can be a bit disappointing, but then again I enjoy them more than straight caches so I guess it's my choice. Maybe there's a way of rating multi-caches as a "2 find" or something to give a bit of extra recognition, 1st find for all the parts, and the 2nd find for the main cache. Any views? 6. No problem with my Ford Scorpio. Also it wedges really well between dash top and windscreen. Much beter than in my Lexus which doesn't have heated screen so eliminated from this research. Only a few more cars to go in the Ford range and we might be able to invoice them for the research! Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.

  8. I'd be another non-techie. Or if we move to the odd/even birthdate I'm an odd. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.
  9. Just a tip for speed on your journey. Instead of changing from the Piccadilly line (Blue) to the District Line (Green) at Acton Town do it at Hammersmith, otherwise you add another 4 stops to your journey. Enjoy yourself over here. Most of us are friendly, honestly! Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.

  11. Whilst looking through a magazine I came across a GSM mobile phone with GPS included. It's at http://www.benefon.com . (Click through to equipment/GSM and look for the ESC model. It's a bit expensive at 900 euros but just wondered if anyone has come across it yet on their travels? Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.
  12. quote: This Clipping App might be of use to some of you It seems like a great little application, the only problem I have is whenever it's trying to download the information I get "Run time error 76" and no finished download. Has anyone else had this problem, am I single handedly breaking the internet or am I just being particularly dense and doing the whole thing wrong. FYI-I'm using a Sony Clie PDA just in case it makes any difference. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.

  15. quote:I could find nothing under 120 pounds, which can't be right. Oh yes it is, pretty much. There's very little available under that. I got mine on Tottenham Court Road in Central London, can't remember which of the shops, and it was £109.00. I've not seen it cheaper anywhere else since. It's almost definitely better to send one across even with the hassle. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.
  16. There certainly isn't, Scotty. In general I'm not too bothered about what's in them but I do like the theming of the "prize" to the cache or area and when I finally get off my backside and finish the Cluedo series I'll no doubt reap the reward. Looking forward to Tombraider 3 and my next medal in the series. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.
  17. quote: noones been to Blackpool yet, so perhaps it was not such a good idea. It's a long time to wait but I'll be there the middle weekend of October, although whether I'll be in a fit state to find my way to the hotel let alone a cache God only knows!! 19. quote: Did the doc sign you of to go caching - if so I want his number Unfortunately not, being self-employed I'd only be "skiving-off" from myself I will come across Epping way in the next few weeks and I'm one of the strange breed who live in London and find driving relaxing. Perhaps that explains a lot! Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.

  21. I had to go to the doctor today for a consultation about stress. To cut a long story short I've been told I have to get out more and geocache for relaxation. Now all I have to do is try to convince her that I need all new gps equipment on prescription! If I follow the doctors advice, any suggestions as to the most "peaceful" cache to visit? 23. The look-out tactic works on any scale. My dad used to live in Charlton Horethorne on the Dorset/Somerset border. The village had a spate of burglaries and it wasn't until enough had happened that they all realised there was a car parked casually in the village with someone sat in it. He was checking who left their house when, and for how long, and once a pattern had been established would contact his cronies who would burgle people, often fitting it into a time when people were away for only half an hour. I think the police nabbed them eventually. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.

  25. There can also be the embarrasment factor. My other half once went to Ireland and took a bag load of stuffed toys with her. The security people put it through an x-ray machine and she had the embarrasment of everyone looking at an outline of her bag with loads of beady eyes and noses and faint bear shapes looking out from the display. Luckily Ireland doesn't have a large black market in bears so there were no really awkward questions to answer. Finding your caches - Losing my marbles.
