  1. Here should be what your looking for

    http://gpsinformation.net/

    More specifically

    http://www.gpsinformation.org/perry/chipset_firmware/

And, as previously asked, are you sure there is a steady version progression??

    Chris Tulloch

It should be noted that the /perry/chipset_firmware directory was put there at 1XL-on-XR650L's encouragement and some of the files were provided by him. I had previously collected several of the update files, but not any for the Vista HCx chipset.

    Notes:

    * RoadTrip allows you to transfer waypoints, tracks, and routes between your Mac and Garmin device and manage your data using your Garmin maps.

    * RoadTrip provides the ability to search for points of interest from the convenience of your Mac and then send the locations to your Garmin GPS.

    * MapManager copies maps and unlock codes into the right place to be accessible by RoadTrip and MapInstall. To migrate the maps from your Windows PC, download MapConverter onto your PC and follow the instructions.

MapInstall and MapManager for the Mac software version 2.1.0 is also available:

    * Added integration with RoadTrip. When sending user data to the unit from RoadTrip you are given the option to send maps associated with the user data.

    * Improved map drawing.

    * Fixed several map compatibility issues, which was causing maps to not be found.

    * Fixed issue where maps would not be found on case-sensitive volumes.

    * Fixed issue where streets weren't labeled in when running in Mac OS 10.

    * Fixed some USB issues that could cause transfer issues.

    * Added ability to resize the window.

    * Fixed non-NT maps failing to build or building incorrectly.

    * Fixed Japanese address data being lost during transfer.

    * Added auto update feature in the release version.

  3. Pretty much the same in the mac world. Right-click on the file, or control-click if you have a one button mouse. Choose 'open with', select Bobcat if it shows in the list. Choose 'other' if Bobcat doesn't show, then navigate to and select Bobcat.

To make Bobcat the default for .gpx files right-click on a file and choose 'get info'. Go through the same process as above and then choose 'Change All' under the text which says 'Use this application to open all documents like this'.

  4. I initially had that problem also, but solved it with help from the Garmin Bobcat beta team. My memory is that the solution was to delete Users > 'username' > Library > Preferences > com.garmin.Bobcat.plist
