  1. I think reviewers have NO said advantage over anyone else. I get instant notifications on my phone and can go as quick as any of them from where I am to the cache. The people that SHOULD be banned from getting FTF , is the old people who are all retired and keep getting them all and wont wait till after 5 o'clock and everyone's else is out of work to make it fair. They have an unfair advantage over the working caches out their. Theirs local retirees in this area that claim 8/10 of the FTF's in the area. I think we MUST immediately BAN!!! them from getting them thru the day while we all work. Time to petition to Geocaching headquarters asap.

Ok you can see this was tongue in cheek , but point made??

  2. Very poor secrecy. Just watched on FB a 6 mins mainstream news report on geocaching from Manitoba. And tonight on my local news (in Ontario) there was a little segment on the pre-new feel good news part on local news.

ONLY thing that I think we need to keep secret as Geocachers is the places we bury the bodies after we make the sacrifices to Signal.

  3. I think we need to try n break this down further. Not just lumping caucasians into one group and ALL OTHER non-whites as minorties. I want a total break down in percentages of caucasians too. Why is their more Americans then Canadian caching and Canadians then Australians and where does Englands whites fall or Scotlands caucasians. Russia? Sweden? France? lets get some numbers going here.

    Ok ill start

ONE WHITE Canadian of Scottish/Aborigional decent.......oh dadgum, and i a caucasion or a minorty.

    Ok lets start again here.......

    (tounge in cheek)

  4. I generaly use my real name and add my caching name at the end in introductions. "Hello Im Duncan FROM TLC". As my caching name started out as a group name and now its my solo name, but sounds a little funny jusy being a soloist called The Lindsay Clan. LOL

  5. Use google translate.

English isn't the only language on the earth. If you're expecting them to add English to the cache page - then they should also add Spanish, French, Czech, Italian, Chinese, Japanese ,German, and all the other languages that exist.

Do you think English speaking people are the only tourists?

THIS IS THE EXACT WORDS I WAS GOING TO WRITE . THANK YOU

  6. if the alarm only went off at a couple certain times could make for some intresting encounters with other cachers in the area ALL at the samr time looking LOL. half a dozen cachers or groups all converging on a cache at midnight running into each other in the dark. This could be like a keystone kops kind of moment ( or FTF) and worth having a video camera near by. ROFLMAO

  7. I wouldnt assume it "lost" yet. I placed a TB in Nov. in honour of my twin grand boys being born. A cacher picked it up shortly after and never logged so showed in cache and i heard nothing more of them till March. I tried emailing then and figured it lost. It was quite humourous when March came and i see it logged and a note that the kids picked it up and left it in grandparents van as they wwent off Florida for the winter holidays till march.

So dont give up hope, it could still all of a sudden make its move.

  8. My user name came from my Last Name. And used to cache with the family now i cache alone , well till grandkids old enough to join. But best part is their is a town only 30 mins from where i live named LINDSAY and at events ppl say to me all the time "oh your from Lindsay".So on my trackable nametag i have my name and it says below it "no IM NOT from Lindsay" , always brings a laugh to ppl. And the Clan part ties into my Scottish heritage of Clan Lindsay. And the great part is on nannos i can sign TLC.

  9. A minimum of one find of each size of cache should be required to understand sizes. And a min of 100 finds (not hard to do) to give u an idea dropping a coffee tin in the bushes beside a guardrail along the highway is NOT a fun cache. Also you should have 2 gps devices (ie a phone and a dedicated handheld or a handheld and a auto ) just so you can average out the coords. Maybe more learing "events" should be hel;d for new cachers around to teach newbies of TBs and hides etc.

  10. We need to stop looking at the negative of bomb squads blowing up caches. Its a good thing. Its give us an opertunity to "refresh" the cache from having crappy swag in it. Gives another cacher an opertunity to place a new cache. And best of all...... it builds employment in our downturn economy. Gives special police a job to do , thus keeping them employed, it gives the bomb squad "real life" scenarios to practice in case there is ever a REAL emergency.

  11. Rules or guidlines ar made to be broken. Their is an exception to everything. And this exception just seems to of gone the wrong way.

Their ar many caches that are in "honour" of Christmas does that break the rules. As CHRISTMAS is CHRIST's Mass, so werew honouring someones religious idol.

In this area i know of a least half a doezen that say "in honour of our newest baby" or "to celebrate our first child" so if one of theses children grow up to be a service person and a vetran , is that cache need to be removed?

Caches are usually relevent to the geographic area their placed. Although Geocaching is INTERNATIONAL, you go to certain areas of the world and their only relevant to that area. If it was called "In Honour to ALL our veterans World Wide" would that cover it?

I myself had a cache called "Caching with the Gods" it was in a park with a hill (mount) and park was called Olympus; thus Gods of Mount Olympus.Im a Polytheist and it didnt offend me. But im sure as a Christmas one does some this one did too. Being PC is not about honouring ANY walk of life, its about RESPECT for each other and those before us and coming after us. Something were losing in society. If the cache name offends -their's 99,9999 others around u to find.

  12. Im having trouble. Ive been caching for a couple years and use my Oregon 300. Due to LIFE i've been out for about a year. SO now were back in and i have reregistered and got my GC.com subscription, pulled some caches and downloaded them to the GPSr. Disconect and volia..... NOTHING. I cant get anything on my geocaching screan. I can pull up "found" caches on it and read the paperless page and go to the navigation compass and it shows but nothing with new ones. I tried to reload them thinking i loaded wrong and the site say it already on my gpsr and would i like to overwrite, so i did, Still nothing.

What have i forgot? What am i doing wrong?
