  1. 37 was my number and it was the number before the powerball, oh well such is life. Thanks for the cointest and congrats on the sweet new coin Fredhead!!
  2. Only a few more hours until we know who the lucky winner is, I am so excited to have a chance at one of these coins. The green will match my KX250 nicely...LOL!! Good luck everyone!!
  3. These are way too cool, I love the simple art work done for them. Just great!! I just picked up a set, had to do it. Some one said in a previous post the reminded them of Kyle's little brother Ike from South Park, you totally nailed it I see that too!! Awesome, cant wait to get them in! Thanks!!
  4. Y.A.S.S. in a world that is far to concerned with ones own issues and concerns its nice to see some one giving for the sake of giving. To make some ones day a little brighter just because. Thats truely awesome!! This thread was a great read too, I submitted an email for getting added to the address list, not just because of this thread. Thanks again Y.A.S.S. and keep up the good work, your gunna have some way rockin karma too!!
  5. #37 Green Thanks for the shot at the coin, they are so cool. Brrrraaaaaaaappp!! (Dirt bike noise) LoL!
  6. Great, if you decide to make any geo-trading cards, be sure to let me know - maybe we can trade I will definitely let you know GeoLobo, I love your card it is a very unique and well thought out signature item IMO!!
  7. Mine came from a collaboration, one of the higher ups at work called me Andilly and my room mate would say whats the dillyo? Like whats the deal, kind of. The two merged before long and I was ANDILLYO!! I used caps because I am a draftsman and my caps lock is always on. My real name is Andy BTW. This is an awesome thread, love hearing how others chose their names.
  8. Those are awesome!! I love seeing signature items in caches, I dont usually take them but I like to look at them. Business cards on the other hand are not something I feel people shoudl put in caches, just feels like a ploy to drum up some business IMO. The cards shown on this thread however are great and show some serious though in design and content, I think they are great. Its got my creative gears turning for sure!! Thanks for sharing!!
  9. We use a Composition note book, the black and white cover one like we all remember from school. Before we go out for the day I will write each waypoint ID and the cache name leaving a few spaces inbetween for field notes. We have found it works very well for us and when we fill one up we will just archive it for future reference.
  10. That is good to know, I was wondering what the current record was and now I know. Thanks!! BTW Mine is 14 in one day, so far....
  11. This is a subject that intrests me as well being a Verizon customer and having just bought a Blackberry. In the cacheberry forums it is very hard to tell if this will or will not work. I have a Blackberry Storm and some testers are saying that it works but I am unclear if it only works with a subscription to Navigation or if the GPS function is unlocked. I have read both and am confused about it all. I dont see why they , Verizon, wont unlock the GPS function of the phone for use with 3rd part apps if it isnt. Personally I dont think they like the thought of something competing with Navigation although cacheberry and the like are very different. Currently I am subscribed to Navigation through Verizon so if I get cacheberry will it work or not is the question I am asking? Or rather wanting to know the answer too.
  12. My fianc'ee and her 2 kids, boy 11 and girl 9, all started last weekend. We set out to find 5 some being virtuals and some being micros and traditionals. They really liked the traditionals, its like a treasure hunt for them. They traded and are very proud of what they found. I just sign the log and get my thrill from being outside and not on the couch. This is truely family oriented hobby, sport, lifestyle....LOL, you and your son will definitely be enjoying it in no time flat! Keep the ladies in mind though too as they will aslo more than likely really get a kick out of it, and some good excercise. Thanks for your service and have a safe trip home. *edited because I cant type fast and spell at the same time, LoL!!
  13. Thanks for the comment and idea Grasscatcher. To be honest I actually hadnt though of that. I will have to see if the home PC mother board can be expanded to accept one or not. Its a Dell and they arent great about leaving spaces for future expansion. Thanks again!!
  14. Thanks JBnW I am going to research this some more. My serial port-usb cable didnt come with any drivers and searching around on google leads me to believe that this is the biggest problem here. I am trying different drivers with no luck so far. I might just have to buy Garmins cable and be done with it. I did get the GPS to download on my work computer, it has a serial port, so I know the unit works. Thanks for all your help guys I truely appreciate it.
  15. Well I went the route of downloading Mapsource the way that Redwoods Mtn Biker suggested and also got the Topo map of Idaho that IBcrashen gave me the link to. They work great, thanks alot guys I reall apreciate it. The only issue I am having now is connecting my GPS to the computer. The Etrex Legend comes with a serial port connector and I dont have one on my home pc, just usb. I did go buy a generic serial port to usb cable ut it doesnt seem to want to find it. Does anyone know if this is something that wont work or not? I know Garmin sells a serial to USB cable but its a quite a bit more than what I got the generic one for. Any thoughts?
  16. Thanks for the reply I havent seen much of NG Topo but it sounds like alot of you guys prefer it over the others that are available. Thanks again!!
  17. Good to know thanks for the information, I will look around for the Ibius or whatever map when I get a chance. Thanks again!!
  18. Thanks for the link, I will look into this as well. How does National Geographic Topo compare to some of the others that I have previously mentioned? What do you like about it and dislike about others? Thanks again for your reply.
  19. Thanks for the link I will definitely look into that one, hadnt heard of it before.
  20. I recently recieved a Garmin Etrex Legend GPSR for Valentines and have been bitten by the Geocaching bug as well as my fianc'ee and our kids. I am looking into getting a map program for this unit and would like to hear opinions from users with experience with these programs as to the pros and cons as well as suggestions for use with this GPSR. I am sorry if this has been covered before, likely it has, when I tried to search it timed out 3 times on me. I appreciate your input, thanks!!!
