  5. Hiking recently from one cache to another in Colorado Springs, CO, I realized that somewhere enroute mine was gone! I had done several caches and had sat a few time and did some fairly good climbing. Luckily I hiked back up the same way the next morning and found it.Mine clips over my belt..I think that I'm going to find a chain for the next caching trip.

  11. I got mine at Walmart after checking Best Buy, CompUSA, and Circuit City..
  12. I had a Garmin 90 Aviation GPS that I had used in my aircraft. After I got into the sport I purchased A Garmin Legend as it did alot better job keeping signal and displaying the last .1 to the cache..(and I like just using just 2 batteries too)..since then I think that I have helped sell at least 5 other Legends, after people saw mine.
  13. I flew on America West from Phoenix to Wichita yesterday and used my Legend..it was a Canadair Regional Jet. I had visited with a relief Captain on the way down and he said that it would be okay to use it..so I decided to try. To get a signal I had to have the unit real close to the window but it did well once it locked on. The stewardess came by and mentioned that she didn't think that I was supposed to use it since it was receiving a signal but she checked with the crew and they said that it was okay. I saw 613 miles per hour and it was fun watching the towns go by. I only used it from level flight til we headed down..but it was fun. I have used it quite abit in personal planes and find it works as well or better than some aviation handheld units..just no aviation database.
  14. I used a PVC pipe buried in the ground..capped the bottom and made a base frame to keep it in the ground then put a cap over it..the cap comes off fairly easy so I drilled a hole in the side of the cap for a eye bolt to slide in..and marked the cap and tube so it's easy to re-install. it and the cap are on a chain so they have to dig up the whole apparatus if they decide to take it. It has worked well so far.
