  1. That sucks. I always have two pairs of keys on me (I also have electronic locks on my door).

Now, some of you may wonder why I have two sets of keys on me. Well, I am a volunteer firefighter/EMT and some times I end up going straight to the scene of an accident. In a lot of cases that means I end up leaving on the ambulance and my SUV is left at the scene with all it's lights going.

I generally toss an extra set of keys at a firefighter and they will then drive my car back to the fire station for me. That way I don't have to go back to the scene. It looks really silly when my SUV is sitting on the side of the road with all it's lights going and nobody else around it (it happened once and it was a really busy road and looked really stupid when I got back to it).

To give you an idea on what lights I have on my SUV you can check out this youtube video (there is a siren on and it's LOUDin the video).

  2. I just purchased a Magellan Triton 1500, and it didn't come with a manual (other than an online version). That manual sucked. I've played with it enough since yesterday that I think I can get it to do what I want now, but that first day of messing with it sucked big time. if I had gotten more than 2.5 hours of sleep in the last 31 hours I'd probably have gone out and tried to find some of the caches near me.

I think the one thing that bugged me the most was having to DL each cache individually.

Good luck to you, and if you 9or anyone else) is in the North Country of New Hampshire look me up and we can go play.

  3. I used to have a Fuji Finpix S5100, but it gave up the ghost a couple of months ago. I now have a Canon EOS XSi (or 450D depending on where you live). I currently keep the kit lens on it, but also have a 55-250mm lens. I just got my first GPSr yesterday and haven't gone caching yet, so *shrug* We'll see how it goes. I generaly bring my camera with me everywhere (even on ambulance and fire calls).

  4. My winter boots were purchased back in 1990 when I started a job in Outdoor Education in the Mountains of Southern California. I just changed out the inserts this last winter for the first time. I don't remember the model of boot, but the maker is Sorel. They were expensive, but obviously well worth the price after using them every winter for the last 18 years.

  5. I'm new to geocaching (just signed up today), but always be careful when going out in the woods. I live in New Hampshire and they have enacted legislation that would have made you responsible for paying for your rescue. Admittedly, I find wilderness rescue fun (if tiring), especially if the person we're rescuing isn't hurt, but just lost.

Glad to hear you're okay. So, are you going back to find the cache?
