  8. Trail Hound hits 800 today at The Motherload! Congratulations to a good friend and a great cacher. Keep on hunting!
  9. I spotted one on the way home from work on Monday just west of West Milford (Newfoundland?). It was looking across the northbound side of Route 23 apparently waiting for a break in traffic. I was half expecting to hear about it being hit by a car. Maybe it was the same one.
  10. If you find one of my TRL Bearbait geocoins, they are for keeps. They are not trackable and are usually placed as FTF prizes.
  11. Congratulations! You've certainly been getting out and about racking up those numbers. Keep on hunting!
  12. Wow! What's up with everyone running deep into Whittingham to bag a milestone today? Congratulations Misty's Shadow on reaching #100 at Perfect Fit. Glad the bears only showed up to celebrate with you. Keep on hunting!
  13. Congratulations Hiker77 on logging #300 at my new Cliffside View. You didn't waste any time getting out to be the first to bag all five in Whittingham. Keep on hunting!
  14. Bumping up a bit. And reminding everyone that participated in one of my coin drawing/competitions that I will award those at this event too. Better late than never, right??
  15. Ok, but when is it Gooney Bird season?
  16. The votes are in and it is time for us to celebrate geocaching in Northern NJ. Who are our best hiders? Who are our best finders? Which caches should you be planning to go find next? Here is the event for you to attend to find out, the NNJC Awards Event. We have had lots of highs and lows in 2005. Now we will rally around the sport we love, share a few stories and a few beers. Look forward to seeing everyone there! Let's celebrate!!
  17. Some of those tips seem a little more grizzly oriented. From what I have read the "fetal position" tip should be avoided with a black bear. If they have not yet gotten within close proximity, talking loud and deep while backing away slowly is recommended. If they are actually attacking, the recommendations I read were to fight back. According the Sierra Club.. Of course, they add - "These tactics may not work. Stay alert, avoid bears".
  18. I'm cooling off too. Gave up buying geocoins for Lent. It also helped that my computer completely crashed and I can only access using others computers. Might stick to trading for a while. PS - If I was aligning a trade with you and haven't heard from me, it is because of the computer crash. I don't have access to all my email right now.
  19. Congratulations on #700! They are actually letting you get away from work long enough to cache, how did you work that out? We'll need to set up one of those special "off-site" meetings to help you on your way to #800. Keep on hunting!
