  1. Well done - about b****y time somebody broke it after nearly three years. Oh, and will somebody give Deego a prod - theres at least half a dozen records need updating now.
  2. One of the things I see more and more is caches not being temped at all when they possibly should. One reason for this that another cacher cited to me is 'Well when I temp them, they will get archived before I get a chance to sort them'. Coupled with the trend of people not logging DNFs, but just emailing the owner instead, this means that if the owner knows there is a problem there may potentially be nothing on the cache page to suggest this. We have wasted our time looking for caches on more than one occasion recently where owners are pretty sure it's gone, but there is no DNF and the cache is still active. T Edit to add: reducing the timings for archiving will just decrease the number being temped - it merely shifts the problem elsewhere.
  3. /me puts out a series of caches to celebrate T
  4. Ahhhh my mistake, didn`t know you had to upload anything..... so whats the point of it, if it hasn`t got everyones data? Surely that would make the table somewhat incomplete?! Pengy
  5. Nice to see that their stats program seem not to be able to handle the "&" from Pengy&Tigger... As could of sworn we did the record for most in a day with Mongers the other week... but no sign of us!?!! And we have done the most counties too, which seems missing?!? Tut tut, not a very good table at all me thinks Pengy & Tigger
  6. Is it a Jeep TB release for UK only instead of USA only?
  7. Helen and Carolyn on your 600th.... I know it`s a bit late but we`ve been a little busy Pengy & Tigger
  8. We thought that too, kept it very quiet! On your 400th anyway from Us. Pengy & Tigger
  9. Since there are also logs in the book that are not online, have you considered that some folks may have changed caching name since logging the cache?
  10. I think maybe the last two posts haven't read the OP properly. Stu wants to know how to see when temped caches are re-enabled, not when they are archived. T
  11. yes, you have to click to see the full rules to see the dates concerned. If a was a newbie cacher, from the initial page I would assume the whole comp is over, since it states '2006 Unite for Diabetes Geocaching Challenge' T
  12. Actually no, that's not the case. Less than 3% of the trigs in the Uk can be logged as the cache in question. Oh and for those who are interested (or not), we found another of these again this morning. That's 18 times now. And just to think, I would never have checked for ones in the area we were going to, if it hadnt been for this thread reminding me.
  13. It's funny how all the spelling mistakes on the profile (that I pointed out in chat the other night) have now been corrected. That narrows the list of suspects quite a bit.
  14. I get the same problem and it is down to the userdata file as rutson says. The userdata file only updates when the memory map program on the PPC is closed via the menu (Menu > Exit). When you load your waypoints into MM in the first instance, and you are happy they are showing, close the program down. This will update the userdata file, so that if and when it crashes and you do a soft reset, the overlay will still be there when you open memory map. Tigs
  15. Actually, if you have a look, that's not the case. The nearest one to you (Hordern Stoops), is a surface block, but the next 3 nearest (Mellor, Windy Bank amd Naze Point) are all trig pillars. P. S. To all the 'Cache Police' out there: We've logged the YOSM cache 17 times, and have visited 17 different locations and found 17 different items in order to do that. I still don't see the 'moral' difference between doing that and logging the same tupperware box again because it's moved. And if you come on the forum ranting, don't complain if others reply on the same thread with the opposite opinion. Maybe next time add the phrase 'Please only reply if you agree with me'. T
  16. It doesn't look like the log on the cache gives away anything that isn't given away by the name of the cache or the description. Is the issue the supposed spoiler, or the fact that you don't think it's a micro? Either way, I can't really see the need to go as far as deleting a log. It's a pretty serious action to delete a log, and can cause a fair bit of future antagonism. I know, as someone deleted a log of mine once for no reason. T
  17. They do live a short distance South West (of most of their latest caches!) T
  18. Aye, but it's because you're all surrounded by water there that the Wirral has always been flooded with caches. It's because it's a PITA to get to anywhere from there that it gets packed so much! I lost count of the number of times we cleared it (in the early days!), only for it to be full again a month later. T
  19. We just made our own. Print out in whatever font you want on to a bit of card, then cut it out with a craft knife. You can then use it over and over again on your ammo boxes. It's far easier than trying to use a standard stencil and doing a letter at a time. T
  20. I find the best place to look for top rankings is here, which shows Team Alamo is still top. Looking down the list, we've cached with 4 of the worlds top 20 cachers. T
