Possible Event Cache In East Midlands
lathama replied to Nottrikk's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
i will be organising one in lincolnshire, but not till after christmas -
i wouldnt say they are all unwanted. I used to collect mcdonalds toys, now being 21 and wanting to get rid of them and pass them on to younger children i find placing them in caches very rewarding

If you can mention in your cache found logs which caches that you have left matches and lighters it would be of great help , so that they can be quickley removed. Nige I think this is a topic which i am going to agree to DISAGREE on. From the background i have in teaching outdoor recreation management there have been many occasions when lighters have failed or matches have got wet and so an available cache would have been extremely usful. Northumbrian : I always put a TOOK: LEFT: in my logs. I have checked and i haven't (luckily for this convo) left a lighter for quite a while. the last was in Denzil cache (near naefearjustbeer) but this was swapped by a cacher later who was most greatful as his lighter had packed up - thus proving my point. Someone else (who's name escapes me): "we are all responsible people and so finding a knife in a cache we know what to do with it" If your that responsible well surly you know how a lighter works too???? Courporangs: "isnt a knife standard hiking gear anyway?" Yes and so are matches, and you dont see people complaining that hikers carry matches in remote areas because "they might accidentally drop one".

Geocaching is much more fun when you are drunk. - especially caching drunk in the dark! Try it.... Go down the pub and then notice there is a cache 'nearby' which u can crawl to. Caching drunk is great!
-
maybe you have not had one because you have no new caches around u?
-
I have said it before and will say it again: I am happy to place a lighter or matches into a cache in a location where they might be used, such as in an extremely remote. I realise this is not the "opinion" of most and neither does it "conform" with the guidelines, BUT if i find a location where i feel a lighter/matches may be needed in futre i WILL place them

(well i will) We have many budding sports stars rising through the ranks eg: Andrew Murray (Tennis - if you didnt watch Wimbledon) Rooney Terry Fordom (Hammer) David Sail (Table Tennis) Hannah Swail (Archery) To name just 5. Stop putting the sports men and women down. I garentee u will be watching in 7 years "cus your bored". So next negotive statement i read and the post will be twice as long!

I CAN FEEL A RANT COMING Why is it that when ever something comes to this country that everyone turns round and says "here we go again". The above thread is full of negitive coments surrounding TODAYS annoucment. Why cant everyone come together and be proud as a nation????? This is going to be our chance to show the world who we are, not go on about north south divides! There are full details on this on the bbc website. It was not a case of we "gave up". we have 7 years here to complete some of the biggest stadiums which have been built for years and that will help our children (whether they are born in london or not) for years to come. SO stop all the negotivity, all the bitching and try and get along

North Yorkshire Tb Race 2005.
lathama replied to harrogate hunters's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
doubt it. It does not appear on the pull down list on the main site -
Do you mean separately loggable stages ? or stages in a multi ? or both ? i am going to use a cache as an example as people still seem to be confused. This is what know as a series cache: GCHJMN or GCKJ9T clear now?
