  1. I noticed the same problem. Hi, I fixed 2 yesterday, after only taking them out of the box...but they are still awesome! nfa
  2. Hi, Here's my Sunday morning $0.02 about boots...I have never had a pair of gore-tex boots that were waterproof for very long after they came out of the box. When I know I'm going to get my feet seriously wet, I wear either Tevas or rubber boots that go up to almost my knees...the former lets my feet dry out after getting wet, and the latter keeps them dry as long as the water doesn't go up over the tops (in which case they change from boots to buckets). nfa

  7. Hi, Here's a (maybe) dumb question...is there an active life for the YJTBs, like the end of the Jeep contest? Or will they continue to circulate like other TBs for years to come? nfa
  8. hi, 157 within 50 miles of my home coords 730 within 100 miles of my home coords nfa
  9. Hi, Come and find one at this event hosted by the Northern New York Geocachers (NNYGeo) on June 19, 2004 in Long Lake, NY. nfa
  10. Hello Everyone! The Northern New York Geocachers (NNYGeo) is hosting an event on June 19, 2004 in Long Lake, NY. The purpose of the event is to meet other geocachers in Northern New York, have some fun, talk about geocaching, and share some geocaching loot. Members of Northern New York Geocachers (NNYGeo) can take a YJTB home with them, along with some other NNYGeo stuff: buttons, cache cards, rear-window stickers, and "Official Geocache" ID stickers. Non-members of NNYGeo are (of course) welcome as well, and can also plan on taking some cool stuff home with them as well. Bring any TBs you want to exchange, as well as examples of signature items and other caching related stuff you would like to talk about/share with the event. Plan on getting to the event around 11:30 or noon, and we'll talk a bit before having lunch (and adult beverages) at the Adirondack Hotel (although you could picnic by the beach if you prefer). After lunch, there is a great public beach for swimming or just hanging out. It should be a great day! I look forward to meeting as many Northern New York Geocachers as can make it.

  18. Hi, I love my Sportrak...it gets me closer to most caches than seems possible...I literally tend to find the cache at my feet or in a 6 foot circle...this may just be luck, but I'm happy to give the Sportrak credit. nfa
  19. Hi, I tend to wear light/midweight hikers. Even after (or maybe because of) all these years, I wore a brand new pair on a 12 mile hike and got...you guessed it, blisters. I tried the moleskin in my 1st aid kit, not serious enough to cover the acreage of blisters, so I fell back on the cure-all...duct tape. I always wear good quality cotton socks, even in winter. nfa
  20. Excellent idea! (thumping skull) A simpler inner container never occured to me, LOL. water will still get in, from drippy cachers if nothing else...I use that waterproof paper for logs, put everything in ziplocks (the heavier freezerweight ones), and try to avoid stuff that will decompose if it gets wet. nfa
  21. Hi, I placed this cache last week...NFA-7 Hydrocache 7 Picnic Spot...it describes the method I used to place the cache. nfa
  22. hi, He doesn't say the words correctly ("Clatu Barrada Numphhhurummph"), and the evil spirits open up a can of evil-deadness on the locals. nga

  24. Hi, My UPS delivery guy has a unit in his truck that constantly updates his coord, and uploads them to the central office...if a cacher could just "borrow" a UPS truck, we could have a fun cache-event... nfa
