Ok thanks, seems to be doing better, accuracy of unit in the 16 range in good clear conditions. What kind of accuracy should this unit be getting? Like I said earlier my Vista would go as low as 9 and I could expect no worse than 15 in any weather conditions.

Ok Thanks for the help. Now its showing software version 2.80 and GPS software version 2.58. I looked at the satelitte page (after I figured out how to find it in the manual) and I didnt see "D" under the bars. I'll check on it again during the day. Thanks again!!

It says software version 2.20 then GPS software version 2.42... How do I know whether or not i'm receiving WAAS signals?

Tried twice to post this topic and kept "timing out". I finally bit the bullet last night and bought a 400t. So far i'm pretty impressed with it, very easy to set up and i'm gonna love the paperless caching!! My only concern is with the accuracy. It hasnt registered lower than 20 (yes, WAAS is enabled) I did a side by side with my eTrex Vista HCx and it showed 9-10 while the Oregon was at 25-26. Any ideas or possible remedies? I also cant figure out how to delete caches but havent really monkied with it much. I could also use some advice on how to delete my other posts that show blanks. Thanks in advance, John

I have been a etrex Vista user since the unit was introduced. I recently upgraded to the HCx and am quite happy with it but am considering making the jump to a Oregon or Colorado and have few questions before I leap. First, of the 2 units mentioned, is there any significant differences? I'm liking the looks of the Oregon because of the touch screen. Mainly I figured it would be simpler for my kids but I have to admit I am easliy attracted to "shiny objects". But the colorados external antenna is a big selling point for me. Does it help that much? My other question is about DLing the caches to the unit. Is it as simple as "send to GPS"? Do the hints come with the file? Thats really about all i've got right now, any input is appreciated. Thanks, John
