none of the host seen in the area... as far as i know the only communication we have is the forum and the event cache site, no contacts at all. the GZ mentioned was 80-100 meters from the tarmac and is almost on the top of the hill. stayed and wait till 2.30pm.

great idea... i used to travel AUH - DXB every weekend but i couldn't see any feasible site between that emirates (there might be perhaps) let me google earth it and have i torough recon.

This is great! i just visited the site recently... in this case no worries anymore... i got some order of swags from other online shops, unfortunately, there is some disputes in delivery, been already one month... still the items was sleeping in postal service.

I'd like to suggest Pink Rock as Earthcache, i think it has a kind of unique features and attribute that would qualify the Earthcache, but dont know how we are going to enter and what will be the characteristics that would comply the Earthcache.org guidelines. I think Carbon Hunter might help us here.

I like this thread, and it cross my mind that we should create another thread for us - (AUH or UAE Geocachers) a “geocaching trip plan thread”- prior to the day, because most of our scheds are in conflict and we couldn’t know and decide on a joint venture until the closer day of the plan, not mandatory at all just if you want someone to track you , because sometimes like me (“psycho-cahers”) used to attack the dunes and remote area alone , this will help us somehow -until we got decided closer to the day- where to track us down. I was trying to rename this topic but I couldn’t get it, that’s why if you have any nice idea for the new topic title that will be great.

Thanks Carbon Hunter, for some security purpose i need to change my user names, it happened one of my email account was compromised (still lucky coz its only email)... hahaha bad luck for me... then got the idea something that will reflect with my geocaching hobby as well as me.. was trying to google earth some possible locations and spotted some place, however, need to visit the actual locations, as an idea to share i was thinking of Multiple Cache with some sort of compass offset puzzles in the case of indoor.

i noticed that the cache logs are moving very slow now adays... seems every one is hiding from the sun; shopping centre would be nice or night cache perhaps.

I am planning to visit some cache in Hatta and Oman soils, eventually I heard that there are post and police checkpoints at the Oman borders, could someone list down what are the requirements for you to pass the boarder, well I am aware that I need to carry the following; but still some info I need to get 1. Passport- if I don’t carry my passport with me, do they consider the Labor Card which is commonly carried by some of the expats? 2. Car Insurance – I checked my Insurance and learned that my insurance geography is United Arab Emirates only, is there any insurance company along the way or prior to the boarder and purchase some policy or at least liability policy only as you will not stay long. This are the things which I needed to get some facts, at least could someone share their experience while entering the boarders thanks and regards Armi a.k.a viga001

i also use nuvi for the time being... somehow its relialble and i was able to find caches... if you want to know your exact coordinates just go to main screen (where to and view maps screen) you will see on the top the sinal strength just touch that for about 5-6 seconds it will give you your exact coordinates.
