  1. The current version of Legend firmware is 2.38 and Vista is 2.26. The Vista is a later developed product so when it was introduced it gained from Legend thus few updates to the firmware. The firmware releases for both models are usually released at same time. On earlier question on trip computer, with the Vista you can select and change what data you want to show including Velocity Made Good. These fields can also be changed on the map and navigation screens. I don't think you will find anything missing from the Vista that is included with the Legend. Bruce
  2. sbell111 this really does not have anything to do with whether or not caches are micros; micros can be listed as traditionals. I realize in your area most micros are listed as letter box hybrids and not as tradition caches. Bruce
  3. Excluding locationless I have found caches in 10 states - MO, IL, KS, WI, IA, AR, TN, KY, AZ, and OK. Bruce
  4. Traditional caches do not include multi, letter box hybrid, event, virtual, unknown or surprise, webcam, and locationless. If there is going to be a break down then all types should be reflected not just traditional. I find there is usually little difference between letter box hybrids and traditional except that there is a letter box stamp in the box (and most have been micros). Most multi's are traditional with multiple steps. Often the unknown or surprise are traditional caches with maybe a twist to make them interesting. If only one type is going to be shown then show how many locationless have been found as that number seems to be a concern to some. Bruce
  5. Tom, welcome to geocaching. You are in a great area to find caches. I visited your area over the last weekend and found several caches including the two you mentioned. These are the only 2 in your area that I saw that were hidden like this (and of the over 600 caches I have found they are the only two that I have seen like this). I found these 2 in the dark so I did not really notice how the holes were made. Bruce
  6. I have taken mine through airport security twice a week almost every week and have never had a problem. Some new screeners have asked the more senior screener what it is and they have always identified it correctly as a gps and all went well. Bruce
  7. I have created a cache like that with a few added twists. PVT Snuffy's Box http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=11462. BruceS
  8. My mapped caching trip for this coming weekend is 959 miles over a 4 day period. I have done several trips over 500 miles. My longest caching trip was over 1100 miles. Bruce

  10. I have found a series of caches as you described and the posted coordinates for all 3 in the series were the coordinates for the 1st one. See the following links: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=3663 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=3643 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=3644 Bruce
  11. rdw thanks for your input. That site would meet my needs if it would link directly back to geocaching.com if you clicked the links. Tteppee I guess I missed your previous thread, sorry for starting a duplicate. When I have a big day caching by the time I finish logging last one my first one will fall off the list... What can I say, I cache fast and type slow Bruce
  12. I have noticed that the recently log list has now changed to only the last 200 logs. It had previously shown all in last 24 hours then it was changed to the last 500. With only 200 showing on a busy night the 200 is only those logged in the last 2 hours of so. I like to be able to go to recently logged list and see who and where people have been caching in my area and to read the logs of people that have visited the caches I have visited. I know about adding caches to watch list but this is not satisfactory because it is limited to 100 and I have substantially more than that I like to see activity on. I understand the bandwidth and server time considerations with producing long lists but I would suggest there are better ways to limit the length of the list. My suggestion would be to have user select state that he wants to see logs from and still limit it to 200 if there are more than that. I am typically interested in looking at 2 or 3 states that I have cached in extensively. Bruce
  13. The cache you are looking for is in Kansas and is at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=14580 Bruce
  14. I was riding on a plane talking with the person next to me about how I broke my leg. I had broke it on a bicycle tour and he handed me a USA Today article with a list of great bicycle tours. A near by article was about Geocaching and it caught my attention. I knew I would not be doing any bicycle touring for a while. Well I guess the rest is history. (I do have about 1000 miles of bicycle touring scheduled for this summer) Bruce
