  1. SUBMITTED (27495) - [FEATURE] Add a 'Like' button to cache logs Edit to add: [suggestion] Favorite points or likes on logs "Like" Button to Cache Logs
  2. Thinking out loud: How about a guideline that says that the final for a Challenge should have a D and/or T that is proportional to the difficulty of completing the challenge itself? A working example of this would be the final of Challenge: Ironman 365 Consecutive Days (don't click that link if you are flying under the PMO audit log radar)
  3. Would that dislike be assuaged if the D actually represented the D of the cache itself, by decoupling the challenge's difficulty into a different metric?
  4. [FEATURE] Add date and time to Publish logs
  5. Here's a URL that will list all your Found It logs https://www.geocaching.com/my/logs.aspx?s=1&lt=2 Not sure how printable that will be.
  6. Wondering if anything came out of the design exercise, now that the brute force method has been invalidated?
  7. I gave up on the haxx0r method of displaying this stat, because odds were that these types of changes would zap it. I would still like for it to be an official feature Interestingly, the hack is conspicuously absent from the location of its first implementation.
  8. This is exactly what the Challenge Stars system will do. That's the win-win part!
  9. But what challenge cache can do is choke an area from having a traditional geocache in the area. Some areas are saturated with them. There is a suggested feature which would separate the challenge completed part of the cache from the Found It part. All Challenge caches would present as a regular or puzzle or multi or letterbox and only become a Challenge if the finder chooses to engage in fulfilling its requirements. EDIT: Typo
  10. This is the way I go, for multiple reasons. I believe the online Found It log date should correlate with when you actually physically signed the log. And part of the fun, for me, of completing a challenging Challenge is the locating final which provides a nice bookend, or closure or whatever. Even if there was a system in place which differentiated the Found It from the Challenge Completed events, I am not sure I would ever do them out of order.
  11. I log DNFs for my own records. It's not my responsibility if a cache owner is so delicate that they feel like people are "piling on" because of honest, factual logs. I record-keep unfound caches with a bookmark list what is set to email me logs. If they were to integrate a DNF count into the public stats I would for-sure log every single instance. And I mean an official count, not the html-hack manually-updated method. I don't know what other cache owners would feel about multiple DNFs from the same search, but I can say for sure that any multi-DNFs on my caches would not bother me in the least.
  12. I was caching with my sister today and we were one for three. The first cache she logged the DNF and I posted a note because I had relevant information to add. The second cache she logged the DNF and I logged nothing. Does the CO really need two DNFs from the same search? I felt like I'd have been piling on...
  13. Wouldn't a black background be more "green"? An LCD monitor's backlight is always on, regardless of what is being displayed. Theoretically, if the screen colour is black, most of the light is being absorbed and converted to radiant heat. If the colour is white, the light is allowed to pass through unconverted.
  14. From a technical perspective, yes. Here's a link to a list of skins for this board. Google it -- there are many many many options to customize the look and feel of this board software. However, from an operational perspective, I'd guess no. Based on the level of customization offered elsewhere on the site and the number of times requests for change have been heeded, I'd wager it is unlikely that options will be provided.
  15. Cool -- thanks! Maybe they made the change because now that most monitors are LCD instead of CRT, having a white background reduces global warming? EDIT: typo
  16. How are you changing the skins? I don't see that option in the settings anywhere and google tells me that should be done server-side..? ETA: When this happened yesterday I thought I was having browser issues (again)
  17. Try putting https: instead of http: in front of the URL and see what happens
  18. A needs-archived on a clearly unsafe cache doesn't work up here: Apparently the reviewers are not the safety police
  19. I think every cache map page that is generated from a search has an amber-coloured button in the upper-left corner labelled CLEAR SEARCH FILTERS Click that and it should load everything.
