  1. Have you ever visited a haunted geocache site? Mentions the excellent Haunted Blue Ghost Tunnel Cache
  2. That's fair, for threads where suggestions are made and no response at all is made by TPTB. However, the three threads I bumped all contained messages from TPTB that have set expectations which should be addressed: In these instances they should have stayed completely silent in the first place. Now we have expectations, realistic or not, set by them that something might actually happen. If they aren't going to implement these things then let us know.

I am wondering if we can get an update on how much progress this feature request has made through the tracking system? Its OK to say no -- that way we know you are reading these threads and will stop bumping them. Thanks!
  4. Or Firefox 149? There has been no commitment to put it on the schedule to develop, so there's no real status update to offer you. I am wondering if we could get some indication from TPTB regarding any changes, or if this is still the status quo? Now I am wondering if we could get an update on the progress of indicating to us whether or not there has been a commitment to put this on the development schedule? 6. I have adopted two caches but I use a no-find team account to manage them. I feel it would be disingenuous to have the favorite points for a cache I didn't create or place added to those of my own hides.

[FEATURE] Show DNFs in profile How about enhancing the icons with badges instead of replacing them?
  8. To be fair, the direct personal references started with you: I think that it is the eating of the swine with which some religions have issues; living airborne pigs are probably ok. Meanwhile, here's another flag: Does the fact that it is an historic German flag make it ok to use? Meanwhile, on topic, if they were to try to limit religious log entries, does that mean I could not write "Han shot first" in a log because of its controversial nature in regards to revisionism of the history of the Jedi?

Great list! Add: DNF Suggestion? New map option And here's a thread from TPTB where they actually acknowledge the request(s) while asking for more input (post 23 alludes to development process): Map Most interesting is this post in the oldest thread on that list: EDIT: grammar
  10. Things that are helpful to a small minority of cachers are seldom implemented. I see no use for it. To be fair, there are examples of suggestions for things that would be helpful to a majority of cachers, for which many see a use, that are alleged to be in queue for consideration, which have never been implemented: SUBMITTED (21313) - [FEATURE] System to remove "ghost" trackables from cache inventories. SUBMITTED (32023) - [FEATURE] Allow user-corrected co-ordinates on ALL caches
  11. I was going to reply with this in the most-recently bumped thread. Better, I think, to bump the original post for this oft-requested feature. Here's a list of topics that I could find (including this one): SUBMITTED (32023) - [FEATURE] Allow user-corrected co-ordinates on ALL caches Letterbox Hybrids: corrected coordinate? Extend Corrected Coordinates Use Allow Changing of Coordinates of caches other than puzzle Wherigo - Correct coordinates Enable Corrected Coords on ALL Cache Types Correct coordinates by the letterbox geocaches Correct Coordinates Not Available? User corrected coordinates - feature request "Correct these coordinates" for all cache types Cannot edit coordinates [FEATURE] Corrected Coordinates also for Letterboxes and Wherigos Corrected Coordinates Contained within those posts are these official responses: I am wondering if it is possible to get an update on any progress that has been made in implementing this feature?
  12. "You Found This on...." for Trackables Trackable Item Page Should Indicate a Log [FEATURE] Right rail call outs on trackable listings for "discovered it," etc Trackable page enhancement Wishful for trackables? Quick link trackable log
  13. In addition to some of the previously-mentioned stuff I carry a tick removal tool and Scottish hip waders (two large garbage bags) Edit to add: I too would like to know about that camera
  14. In a perfect world, I would be given the option to have log entries - and notification emails - rendered in my format of choice. However, I don't believe that. They are going to do what they feel is best for them. I have said it before and I'll say it again: I can't figure out which is worse -- that they don't care, or that they don't care that they don't care.
  15. You would have thought that one of the reasons for this change would be to allow notification emails to render correctly. Previously they would show the raw HTML. Now they show the raw markdown.
  16. Edit to update list to include niraD's links (thanks!) and this one as well: SUBMITTED (27495) - [FEATURE] Add a 'Like' button to cache logs "Like" Button to Cache Logs [suggestion] Favorite points or likes on logs Like Button [suggestion] Posibility to give a thumbs up to a nice log Allow "liking" log entries Feature request: "Like" cache log / images etc. "Liking" other people's logs Great New Idea Improve cache quality via log functions? COs Encourage better logs - change to geocaching.com Suggestion to improve cachers logs Favourite logs Feature Request: Make the logs more social PF pour les log / Points for the log (Suggestion)
  17. No traction on this request: [FEATURE] Enhance email preferences So your breath should not be held waiting for a change.
  18. Here's some info about the loss of that capability: DNF on Profile What happened to it? And I don't think it can be displayed as before, because even the originator of that nifty hack doesn't have it showing any more. Want it to be an official feature? So do I: [FEATURE] Show DNFs in profile
  19. Maybe it is an opportunity to implement this: [FEATURE] Add logging "smilies" for trackables
  20. One scenario where we could end up with something like souvenirs is if they decide to eliminate challenges as an official thing. They could delete section 1.22 from the guidelines, which would no longer allow a CO to delete a log because of the ALR exception it codified. After that, anyone finding the container and signing the log could post a Found It. Those Found It logs could include the evidence of completion of the challenge requirements as shown on the cache listing. If the requirements are met at a later date, a Note could be logged at that time with the required documentation. The CO could log a Note that they would edit to show an up-to-date list of cacher names who have been verified as having completed the challenge. A third-party site like Project-GC could link to that Note log and each cacher name in that list would be allowed a CO-supplied or generic souvenir to appear on their stats page.

SUBMITTED (27495) - [FEATURE] Add a 'Like' button to cache logs "Like" Button to Cache Logs [suggestion] Favorite points or likes on logs Like Button [suggestion] Posibility to give a thumbs up to a nice log Allow "liking" log entries Feature request: "Like" cache log / images etc. "Liking" other people's logs Great New Idea Improve cache quality via log functions? Suggestion to improve cachers logs
  23. You are half-right -- the second link is a version of the badges-for-challenges idea (which is where we are headed if they kill Challenges altogether). The first link is for the so-called "Challenge Stars" feature whose implementation would still have a final container to be found after the challenge is completed. IT entails two different log types, which allows a non-challenge-completer to log the cache with a Found It while providing a Challenge Completed log type for those who have fulfilled the requirements. I called this scenario win-win but not everyone agreed.
  24. making the ftf contest more even-handed? Scheduling Cache Activation Controlling when a cache goes live Scheduling new cache publication Publication date
  25. That'd be me. I like the FTF game because of the social aspect. The hunt can turn into a mini-event. The find is incidental and I will always defer to others who are searching. Like this: http://coord.info/GC67TR8
