i think you're taking life just a little too seriously. it's a leisure activity that people do for enjoyment. you can use any aids you want or not whatever makes a good day out for you. i'm not being critical, i wish i could map read well enough to do without but i enjoy the hunt just as much. my daughter, only 5, can cope with gps ie follow the arrow! whatever gets you through the day. just kick back and relax and enjoy life. there's more than enough rules already!

i heard a rumour that there's going to be a magazine for geocaching. anyone heard anything? on-line or paper based or premium members only? is it going to be to try and get muggles to join or for the dedicated daft buggers like us who already do the sport? no doubt someone out there knows.

hi, i see we have an agreement with north wales forestry commision. how are things progressing with the new forest?? no suprise to learn that's where i'm based. will be great to be able to place caches in the forest, keeps my five year old daughter well occupied. trouble is she's only interested in traditional caches with "treasure", micros and virtuals don't hold much facination for young minds that have been disneyfied. i blame the parents. cheers

used the garmin geko 201 now several times. have had no problems, easy to use and set up even for a complete novice like me. seems to link up to satellites without any problems. hard to be impartial as haven't tried any other units but i would say good unit for beginner.

6'7" and thin with it. my problem is that i live in england and we don't have anywhere near as many retailers for clothing etc. good boots from german company mendl. size 14 goretex lined. have to drive regular car and just fold into it! being tall is still great though i just wish they didn't make door frames at 6'5"!! or the local old style pub with low beams so you finish your drink stand up and go through the roof.

thanks for your input limax. i thought the same that's why i didn't get the 101 but as i said i got the 201 with cable interface. can't do much about the fact it plays games. doesn't mean i have to play them does it?

give me a few days to try it out and i'll let you know what it think. hell if i can use it anyone will be able to. i'm not a technophobe i just don't tend to read the instructions, tend to follow the "if it doesn't work, get a bigger hammer" approach.
