  1. Hi, As a User I would like to be able to search for caches with "more than X" favorite points. When I travel to a certain area, I am trying to find the nicest/best/most beautiful/etc caches there. The favorite points system is a decent way of selecting these caches. However, currently there's no easy way to create a search or pocket query based on this. Or even sort your search result based on favorite points. Adding "favorite points" as optional criteria in search and pocket query creation would be a good feature to have! Let me know your thoughts, Opper.
  2. Hello, If I create a pocket query, I can am presented with the option to "Preview this search". This gives me list of caches mathcing the criteria in the pocket query. From this list I can select "Map this search" (or something similar). All this is *not* available for *existing* pocket queries. As a User I would like to preview existing pocket queries as well. I just realized this function is available in the google maps view, but a shortcut from the pocket queries page is still useful I think. Opper.
  3. Hello, Often when watching a bookmark list, I am wondering where the caches are on the map. A "Map this bookmark list" option (just ad when searching for caches in a specific location) would be ideal for this. If a direct link to the map is difficult or unwanted, maybe a "Preview" functions as with pocket queries could be helpful? From that screen you could click "Map this Location" or similar? Let me know your thoughts, Opper.
  4. Please bring back webcam cache type!
  5. Hello everyone, I know I can create bookmark lists, and make them public. But where do they appear if they are public. On my public profile I believe, but also in some general overall list of bookmark list? Why I want to know? I know there's a bookmark list called "korte multi's in brabant", but don't know where to find it or how to search for it. Sometimes you can find certain lists by using google, but it's not very accurate. Thanks, Opper.
  6. It would be nice to also see the time of a log message, not just the date. With more and more people using mobile devices "in the field" and not just uploading fieldnotes afterwards I think we're ready for the time to be shown also . Why? --> Why not?
  7. All maptypes are workingm except MapQuest Aireal and MyTopo. So no sattelite image available, only streets.
  8. The leaflet library now supports a scale on the map. Would be very helpful for planning/research caching trips. And also I remember one of my first lessons at school about maps. 1. Include a legend (is that what's called in english??) 2. Include a scale
  9. Hahaha this must be a joke, this feature request.
  10. Good news, the feature has been added to the Leaflet library: https://github.com/CloudMade/Leaflet/issues/409 @Groundspeak please upgrade so we can use the map again
  11. Thanks for all the answers. It's not the first time the UI of GC.com baffles me. One cache was a smartphone logging issue while abroad. The other cache I actually did visit twice because it's close to my work and the container is big enough to hold (big) travelbugs. Kinda strange both times are counting towards my total finds. I changed the TB visit to a general note. After the above I'm still at 39 finds, but that might me some cached data.
  12. Hello, I have 39 finds, but the website says "of which 35 unique". I can't remember logging some caches twice or anything. When I look through the list of caches that I logged as found, there are no duplicates. Still the numbers add up to 39. What's up? Thanks, Opper.
  13. I see some references to "You can use the search on your profile page to find other members". Where is that search? When I click on "Members" tab in the forum, I see my own profile, but not with any search link or anything like it.
  14. I still don't get it, but most geocache programs only support one coordinate format, while some .loc of .gpx are in different formats. So I need to be able to convert the coordinate formats with a sepearte program. Does anyone know of such a program? I need it because when geocaching abroad, I don't have data connection.
  15. In russia they've found a way to combine urban exploration with the geocache puzzle hunting game: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8309999.stm
  16. Hello, Trying to view the Google Maps geocache search from http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx on my Blackberry bold webbrowser (javascript enabled) doesnt work. (Blackberry Bold 900, OS 4.6) The page is loaded, but the google maps 'widget' is lined out incorrectly and not showing a map neither any caches. Maybe it's a lot to expect, but surely it would be pretty cool to have it working. EDIT: It more or less works in Opera mini (4.2). Although cache info doesn't popup on clicking. Opper
  17. At the moment you can subscribe to a topic by clicking 'Track This Topic' from the Options menu. It would be nice to have an option 'UnTrack This Topic' (or 'Unsubscribe') in the same Options menu to easily unsubscribe from a topic. The current way is looking through your (possibly long) list of subscriptions to find the topic you want to unsubscribe from. What do you think?
  18. Why not setup a bug or issue tracker to gather bug reports and feature requests / new or changed features. From there on release notes and stuff like that are easily generated.
  19. Okay. A nice thing would be to have some kind of issue tracker in which to report bugs, but also geature requests. Or at least a specific forum for feature requests.
  20. However the replies above are interesting, I don't think it needs any argument to have a 'updated last xx days' (or 'updated last 24u') option for pocket queries. In todays 24/7 econmy everybody wants information to be up-to-date, efficient and quick. It will be especially interesting for bcaching users. So you have my vote.
  21. How to get Groudnspeak to implement it? It is not a big feature.
  22. Agreed, also good search option. Frankly I don't understand why the chronological search option isn't already there, as it's probably the first thing that came to mind when I found my first cache. Pitty the geocache platform isn't open-source, otherwise I could have contributed some development.
  23. Hello there, I am using my blackberry bold for geocaching (which will off source insult hardcore geocacheers ;-)). What I am looking for is a GPS coordinate conversion program to easily convert GPS coordinates from and to different formats. Somethine like the geocaching webpage for it (http://www.geocaching.com/wpt/?lat=51.4304&lon=5.498983&detail=1) except that I want an app to do it offline. Anyone knows any?
  24. Hi, Is there an official way to make feature requests? One of the things I am curious about for cache is to see their recent inventory activity. Which (Trackable) items have gone in and out. I would expect this information to be available at the inventory history. But the inventory history lacks a sort option to get this information easily. By default it sorts by name. Other options are last log and distance. What I would like to have is chronological overview of trackable item activity for this cache. The sort by last log option shows the items ordered by there last log, which can or will put items at the top of the list, while they haven't been in the applicable cache for months/years. Just like the 'normal' cache logs are in chronological order, I would like 'trackable item' logs for a cache to be in chronological order as well. Let me know what you think (and how to convince Groundspeak to implement it). Thanks
  25. As far as I can see, my location is not shown to other users. Only thing unclear is why my location was shown when I was posting a NM log for a cache. I can't reproduce that on my desktop pc, it might have happened on my blackberry, but can't reproduce it there either. Consider it solved.
