No answers yet, anyone?
All his posted caches were Navicaches. As Briansnat said, you need to ask Buxley.
Right. And I was checking to see if he ever got a reply in the 9 hours between the time this post was started and now. Thanks so much.

Hey, it beats my idea of leaving knives as swag. You're idea is at least better than golf balls and mc donald toys. Good luck.
-
Is it illegal? yes
Should you do it anyway? definetly

lrgoodger, dude, calm down and take a breathe. NOBODY has a problem with you putting silver IN a cache! Just do it. The problem is that you're trying to promote something that is "shady". I admit, I read about what you're tyring to promote and I was excited until I got into the details and costs. IT'S A SCAM when some guy wants you to pay aprox. $15 for $6 worth of silver. Do a simple google newsgroup search on the subject and see the light.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some silver liberty dollars? The world is going to Helena Handbasket and the only thing that can save us from the oppressors in black helicopters is real silver and gold money. Stock up now, I tellya. I keep looking in caches for them but I don't find any. Oh if only there was a better way to get 'em...
You got it man! Send check or money order to me for $10+s/h and you'll be getting 1 ounce of silver worth $6.95! Win win situation here.

I do like his idea of dropping a coin and posting the coordinates for it though. But it sounds like a whole other hobby that would be seperate of geocaching. I'd certainly take part in it!

You guys aren't playing into the OP's hands. You're supposed to ask, "what kind of silver?" so he can tell you about this pyramid like sceme where you pay $10 for a coin with $5-$7 of silver in it. A topic has already been closed because of this guy.

Anyone checked out http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/ lately? Is it just me or does it look like the radiation has had an affect on her looks/face???

www.wayhoo.com dosen't seem to work anymore. Does anyone know of another site that does the same thing with web based directions?

To anyone concerned, I got a reply to my e-maiol within 24 hours. I was shocked that a reply was sent this soon. this is the e-mail :
Thank you for the notification. We have checked, concur, and will make the
correction. Normally the change would be reflected in the record
immediately, but we are implementing a new version of the database, so it
will be about six weeks before the change will be available and reflected
in that entry. Thank you for your interest in the Geographic Names
Information System (GNIS), the nation’s official geographic names
repository.

Thank you for your research you did on this, Holograph. I've just sent out an e-mail through the web site you linked to. We'll see what happens.

It makes me wonder if years ago there was a phone conversation with the "map guys" and someone spelled S C O P U S and they thought the said E instead of a C. they kind of sound alike.
-
While benchmarking I've noticed all the major web mapping services ie: mapquest, yahoo, microsoft map point all have mis-spelled my town of Scopus, Mo. They spell it Seopus. For some reason my National Geographic topo maps spell it correctly. Who do I inform to get this fixed?
-
hmmm......restricting Buxley was supposed to fix that. I guess it didn't work.

Personally, caches being buried by the government is interesting and somewhat relevent.
No it isn't.
Yes, it is.
-
Jeremy, you've got to admit.... the moderators are going overboard here. I asked about cross posting and my topic got shut down. Can you help here?
-
After reading this http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/status.html
I'm wondering if I should cross post my first cache on gc.com and Naviache.com now just for getting my cache on Buxley's maps? I didn't have any reason to cross post before....will it be worth it?

The resoson I ask is because it is one of the higher points in Madison County and I'm trying to get to the top of all of them. I can't even get to the base of the mountain without seeing a fence and no trespassing signs. Is there a website where you can see who landowners are of a certain area?
-
ED, anything new??
-
No decisions have been made. But we are willing to open a dialog with him and we'll see where it goes.
Elias
I know Buxley is ready for the dialog to open.
My question is - - When are you going to open the dialog with him?
You hit the nail on the head.
Are they still around here?

I've been gone from Geocaching for a long while and gone even longer from this message board. Are the usual people still here? Is Mopar Man still disagreeing with the popular majority to cause a fuss? Is he still married to the woman he met on this site? Is Keystone wound tight with very little sense of humor still? Is Jeremy still the CEO of geocaching.com and ruling with an iron fist or has he mellowed with time like a fine wine?
