  1. SA administrative costs are under 17% for the record. Do I hear keys jingling?
  2. Couldn't have said it better, (or even as well) Team Sagefox, so I won't even try. Thanks!
  3. I really like this idea.
  4. I'm still trying to talk my wife into doing this. This is an outstanding organization and I will gladly donate 150 dollars to support it. The fact that I get to geocache for donating it doesn't hurt either! As far as GC.com violating guidelines, as others have stated, that's NOT TRUE! The caches are NOT going to be listed on GC.com, and anyone (other than that squished kitten organization mentioned earlier ) can buy advertising on this site provided that TPTB are willing to sell it. The following is a test of the Emergency Thread Hijack System: So, Is anyone else planning to go?
  5. As long as you apply a warning label about possible eye injuries!
  6. When I saw the thread topic, "Finding My Own. Spent twenty minutes looking!" I thought it was an off-shoot of the "Fat Geocachers" thread
  7. Hey, KA! Why haven't you changed your name to "Keystone Reviewer"? Oh, and in order to stay on topic... "I unclog my nose at you, you silly cache reviewer!"
  8. What they said! Edit: Wow, I'm slow!
  9. Okay, now I know what DNF. Cache Cow But again, why would you want to? It's part of your history.
  10. I always thought you could trade out as many items as you wanted as long as you replaced them with the same number of items of equal or greater value. When I first started, I made a few inequitable trades. I quickly realized the error of my ways, and now I carry a variety of swag and cache first-aid items (when I don't leave it in the car) and I try to leave a cache better than I found it.
  11. I'd say a little green is more like it. I'm not sure that "took all the goodies" means he emptied the cache. It may just mean he took what he considered to be the best things in the cache. A friendly email explaining that it is common practice to trade even or up when caching might take care of it.
  12. If I could get in touch with my wife, I would be signed up already! Darn cellphones!
  13. Maybe the "approved container" refers to a land managers requirements for a cache container. For example, in Maryland, caches in state parks require permits and those permits forbid the use of ammo boxes or any container that is not transparent. Link Edit: Added link
  14. I really like the "Story Book Ending" idea for a cache. I might try something like that for my next cache.
  15. My wife teased me umercifully for these two logs: Part one Part two She accused me of being a geek. I've kept subsequent logs a little shorter!
  16. Well the only thing I had to give up was taking care of the house repairs. Funny, the only person that seems to bother is my wife. Unfortunately, my geocaching activities are about to take a back seat to boating on the Chesapeake Bay for the next 5 or 6 months. I'm primarily a late fall/winter/early spring cacher. Dang!! Still no time for the house repairs! Edit: Spelling
  17. Mission 7: Crab Creek in Maryland is an active A.P.E. cache. I plan to do it soon. Cool icon! Edit: Punctuation
  18. I found a cache after a snowstorm once. If it hadn't been for the snow cover, it would have been completely out in the open. I was not sure what to do with it. I cleared the snow away from the area where I found it and there was nothing that could have been considered close to a hiding spot. I ended up moving the cache about 25 feet to a nearby fallen tree so I could tuck it under SOMETHING! I emailed the owner and told them the cache was probably not in it's original spot, and described where I had hidden it. They never responded to my email.
  19. Well I'll be danged! My thread was hijacked! Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals. Closing this thread since all questions/requests have been taken care of. Thanks again!
  20. I don't do things for the icon. I do it for the experience of trying or finding something different. Although the YJTB icon does look good on my profile page!
