  1. Way to go. The numbers just keep on going up, up, up. It's a lot of work and gas bur it sure is Fun Fun Fun. Hope to see you again soon. One of these days i'm going to get to Pompays pillar! Team D & D, and Microcacher!
  2. We just about have 1000 caches. I've been stopped by cops, security, etc about 3 or 4 times. Most of those were at night or because I parked somewhere I shouldn't have. It was OK to park in these spots but they were so used to seeing certain vehicles parked there mine stood out like a sore thumb and just begged for attention I guess. I have gone night caching about 20% of the time mainly because the sun decided to quit before I was ready to. I went caching for 24 hours straight one time and was actually disappointed that I didn't get some attention from local law enforcement. I was by myself and figured I'd get to explain geocaching to some officer during the course of the evening. The more you go the less you'll worry about it. The Geocaching-U papers are what I carry. I keep the large ones in my computer case and the small ones in my wallet. They are also nice to have for people who are curious about the sport. The papers will direct them to the website and they can get started from there. I have given these out to people I bump into while hunting who "Catch me in the act". Never lie about what you are doing to law enforcement. If you lie about one thing and the find out you'll look very suspicious and who knows what's going to happen from there. I have told muggles that I was looking for items such as watches glasses etc before but never lie to the cops. That's just my 2 cents worth. Now get out there and have fun. Team D & D
  3. I normally do but I was just wondering if this was an issue with the magellan software. Thanks!
  4. Is it possible when loading info from the geocaching manager to choose weather or not you would like to have the cache Name or the Geocache GC ID # come up in the menu choices. Today I loaded some in and from the software and I got Geocaching names EX. Chester's fictitious cache. I would like to have gotten GCXXXX. That way when I use the GOTO menu I would get the GC# not the name. If I use names and the caches have the same beginning prefix, EX Indiana Spirit quest # XXX, It only loads one of them. Is this because they only look at so many of the first characters and start overwriting the caches? I normally load into a SD card and can choose what I'd like to have show up in the GPSr. I didn't see an option with the Geocaching manager software that came with my unit. Thanks team D & D
  5. Try the following, - Go to hidden menu selection - select menu 22 (clear sensor calibration) - Answer Yes (even if it says its a bad idea) - restart the unit - go to compass calibration - you now have to do the advanced calibration, it takes longer and you have to do many things with your unit, eg. set it to nearly every axis and let it collect data. - at last the normal calibration comes up - now the world is fine again ;-) Thanks for the tip. I tried this today and it worked. The only problem I had was turning the Compass back on. I went to PWR MANAGEMENT in the menu but the drop down menu was blank (No On or OFF choices visable). So I went to blank area and pressed enter. Ok now I have 2 choices off and on. I choose on because that's what I want. It defaults back to a blank window and compass doesn't work. OK, now I figure out that I have to first select off then it takes that input. Then I go back into menu and it still says off. Ok that worked. Then chose ON and the compass worked. Not sure if that's a bug or not. But that's what happened to me this morning. Team D & D
  6. I hope this is also the case for the 210. My sister got one for Christmas and it would be nice if they both had the same menu options where appropriate. I try to tell her how to get to or do something and it's just different enough to drive you nuts. Thanks for listening Magellan Guys. The new 600 software is a great improvement over the last rev. Keep up the good work. We appreciate it. Team D & D
  7. Way to go! Now all you have to do is go out and find the rest of them!!!
  8. Way to go guys. We know you were looking forward to it. Good luck on your next 500!
  9. OK, I thiink I just paypalled 5. Let me know if you got the order or not.
  10. Congratulations Doobies. We'll see you soon.
  11. Hey Clyde, I have a request. The ability to filter out by a milage radius is great. I want to know if you can do it by a given number of caches from the center point. I would like to see this because i have an explorist and i would like export 200 caches or less at a time. Currently I have to set the Milage radius a few times before i can get below 200 caches to show up in the filetr. Let me know.
  12. I saw the same thing today. had to use the dame fix too. It drove me nuts until i figured it out.
  13. I was out caching today. It would be nice to be able to delete a Geocache Point after it's found. That way you at least remove some of the clutter on the screen. From what I can tell editing geocache points is not even possible. It would be even nicer if you could mark them as found and the unit would not view them on the screen and you could download them to mapsend or gsak. It would be nice if you could send waypoints from the geocaching manager software directly to a SD card. Every time I try it wants me to hook the GPSr unit up. I have a lot of issues with the unit. Too many to think of at this time. I am going to start a list next time I go out and try and post it here and send it to Magellan as well. I can not believe they can say they are unaware of issues. I know I've called ans asked them about various concerns a few times already. The unit is nice but it should be a lot more user friendly. The software shouldn't be so difficult to use. It should work the same as the old software. I understand the units use different code but the packages should be designed so that it is transparent to the user. If you're trying to use an old unit and a new unit it can be really confusing. It would be nice to Export files from an explorist and load them into an older unit. I entered Manually a bunch of coordinates into geocaching manager and it worked great. Then I had to reenter them into my old unit because I couldn't get the coords out of the explorist into a format the old meridian would recognise. like I said. I could go on and on. I think next time i'm going to go with GARMIN. they are a bit more expensive but if MAGELLAN doesn't get their act together i think they could loose a lot of business to the GEOCACHING communty. That's just my 2 cents worth.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOKS Good to me. Sign us up. I might get back into the swing of things if I can get Donna and Microcacher out a bit more. In the mean time keep up the good work. If the new organization works out half as well as your fall picnic events it will be a giant success! All who venture into the realm of Indigo will surely benefit from it's existence. You guys are a well-organized and dedicated bunch. You always pour your hearts and souls into this thing we call Geocaching. Thanks for taking on this huge task. We all love the chance to, get together, talk about, and participate in our favorite pastime. It looks like this new organization will give us many more opportunities to do just that. Thanks again, Team D & D and Microcacher, Greensburg, IN
  15. Keep up the good work Deermark. Since you kinda got me into this whole Geocaching thing I thought I'd send my congratulations your way! Team D & D
  16. Try Here http://gpxsonar.homeip.net/Lists/General%2...n/AllItems.aspx I'm new to the program also but had someone direct me to this site. I was able to get my issue resolved here. have fun hope this helps.
  17. You can go Hunting and you don't have to Shoot, Catch, or clean your prey. Of course if you don't bring food you may go hungry. You can spend hours and hours in a row out here looking for these things if you want. You just sign it and off you go. Geocaching is always in season.
  18. OK Here We are. Now you have to catch us in the woods!
  19. I saw on the news the other day they planned to rebuild it. I think they were looking for donations and having fundraisers. I saw it on the Indianapolis news. Not sure what channel.
  20. What route are you taking? I know of some in Indiana.
  21. They should make it an event cache. Maybe some newbies will find out about it that way.
  22. I thought I may have something set wrong in my GPX export from the GSAK Program. That's why I asked. I'll check the other sites though. Thanks for the info.
  23. Clyde, I just loaded GPX Sonar on my iPAQ. Then I uploaded the GPX file. I also set the user info with the geocaching ID #. The caches I have not found show up as found. They have the green check in the found column anyway. What do I need to do to correct this. Thanks for your help.
  24. Log out first !!! Test again.
  25. Just another Pic Test. My First.
