  1. I was excited to see the various Kabakkuk editions starting to show up--congrats on your outstanding design! Thanks again for the cointest, & now for this generous choice of prizes. All 3 are beautiful; my choice is the Chaldean, because of the gorgeous effect of the green on gold . Email sent.

  3. Wow, those are very impressive! Hope to trade for one.
  4. I drilled my coin to attach a laminated card, so at least a thief can't use ignorance as an excuse. I'll be placing mine in a cache this weekend.
  5. Outstanding design, congrats AtlantaGal! My fave is the GCF Denver edition--love that color combo, but since I didn't get to go to GCF.... . Just wondering, does the Day-Glo have a special type of enamel? Or is it the color combo that makes it so electrifying?
  6. 7. Congrats on these gorgeous 2-tones! Email sent, fingers crossed.
  8. Email sent, fingers crossed!
  9. That's going to be a stretch, since 60% or so of all activation codes are never even retrieved And that's not taking into account the percentage that are just retrieved for book keeping. Then you have the percentage of retrievals for actual activations that are used for just discovery. Who knows, maybe the actual percentage of trackables activated and set free could be a single digit percentage! TMA That's probably true for the coins that we collectors purchase or trade for, but when we signed up for this free Racketeer coin, the offer made it clear that we were agreeing to release it into a cache within 10 days of receiving it. As much as I would love to add this beauty to my collection, I will honor that agreement, although it irks me that it isn't likely to travel very far before someone else does decide to keep it!
  10. My Geico Gecko Travel Tag visited 3 caches before it went missing, even though I attached a laminated card clearly stating that it was not to be kept. I don't think these eye-catching beauties will survive very long in the wild, but I ordered one, anyway. We'll see.
  11. Hurray--we have our third winner! Kini_ont wins the final prize with a correct guess of Salvia. The genus Salvia has many colorful species; my fave is S. farinacea "Victoria Blue"--it makes a divine combo with Shasta daisies. Kini_ont, please email me your address! Thank you all for participating in my first cointest, for my first geocoin! I enjoyed reading your entries; they brought back so many great memories of flowers I have grown & loved. Maybe I can get my garden going again next year, now that the La Nina weather pattern, with its sweltering heat & drought, is dissipating. As promised, it's now time to reveal my design for the front of Cottage Garden Summer. I may tweak it a bit, & the mint may change it some, but this is basically it (shown in perhaps my AE colors): Hopefully I'll have this coin, & another cointest, next year!
  12. Checking back I find that we have another winner!! Congrats, Six Little Spookies!! The delicate & colorful blooms of Cosmos are part of my design. One winner to go, so everyone else keep guessing! Six Little Spookies, please email me your address!
  13. OH, WOW!! Can you believe that while I was typing that list, someone jumped in here with the first Correct guess? How cool is that?!?! Congrats, Skylark Four, true lillies of the genus Lilium are indeed part of my design! One winner named, two to go, so everyone else keep guessing!! Skylark Four, email me with your address!
  14. Sorry to say, no correct answers yet...I'm making y'all work for this coin, aren't I? I'm not surprised, as nothing about this coin happened quickly, including the shipping...it traveled from Colorado to Louisiana via Estonia, LOL! At least I got a great trade out of that! We have 50 guesses so far with some duplications, so I thought I'd put all the previous guess in one post....all these have been eliminated (with many flowers the common name is the same or almost the same as the genus): Hollyhock--Alcea Sunflower--Helianthus Gardenia Daisy--Asteraceae Petunia Gladiolus Rose Indian blanketflower--Gaillardia Carnation--Dianthus Red Hot Poker--Kniphofia Magnolia Pansy--Viola Foxglove--Digitalis Blazing Star--Liatris Dahlia Purple Coneflower--Echinacea Iris Sunflower--Helianthus Clematis Dandylion Narcissus Wisteria--Fabaceae Chrysanthemum--Dendranthema Geranium--Pelargonium Black-Eyed Susan--Rudbeckia Bellflower--Campanula Golden Poppy--Eschscholzia Passionflower--Passiflora Marigold--Tagetes Snapdragon--Antirrhinum Chinese Lantern--Physalis Calla Lily--Zantedeschai Tulip--Tulipa Larkspur/Delphinium--Consolida Broken Hearts Begonia--Begoniaceae Hydrangea--Hydrangeaceae Paeony--Paeonia Heather--Calluna Vinca--Apocyanaceae Lady Slipper--Cypripedium Iris Hibiscus Morning Glory--Ipomoea Honeysuckle--Caprifoliaceae Daffodil--Narcissus Zinnia Canna Impatiens Hibiscus
  15. No winners yet, keep those guesses coming! Kini_ont, just to clarify, you need to guess a summer flower (one of the 3 summer flowers on my design for the next coin in the series--hopefully to be minted next year). The prize is the spring coin.
  16. I've often wondered who got those elusive Venetian Mask samples...they were supposedly sold from the random sample bin. Whoever got them, they sure have been mute about it...me, I'd be celebrating in the mailbox thread! I'd also be willing to make them an offer!
  17. Just checkin' in to say, no winners yet....but I'm enjoying your entries! Many of those you've named, I've grown & loved. Funny how a flower can evoke so many memories. Okay, I gotta ask...kini_ont...is Narcissus a summer flower in Ontario? Wow, the ground up there must stay frozen a long time...here in Louisiana, Narcissus are blooming their pretty white heads off in late February! I remember picking them & putting them in a vase with some food coloring added to the water...in a few hours, you can see the color in the veins of the white petals! My grandmother showed me that as a kid...thanks for the memory!
  18. Lovely! Please let us know when you're ready to receive trade offers.
  19. Those are some great flowers, some were considered, but so far no one has made a correct guess. I'll check back in tomorrow...
  20. Through the generosity of those on this forum, I've entered lots of cointests, & I've been thrilled to win several splendid coins. I'm long overdue to give something back to this community, so now that I have my Cottage Garden Spring AE's in hand, I'll begin to rectify that! I recently completed my design for Cottage Garden Summer, which I hope can be minted next year. Can you guess one of the 3 summer flowers I selected for the front of the coin? Here are the cointest rules: 1. You may guess one flower every 24 hours, or thereabouts (every morning or every evening is fine). No editing allowed. 2. Since common names vary, please include the genus (the first part of the scientific name). For example, for the bleeding hearts on my spring coin, the genus is Dicentra, or for the forget-me-nots, the genus is Myosotis. This information should be easy to Google for whatever flower you want to guess. 3. The first correct guess of each of the 3 summer flowers wins a Cottage Garden Spring AE. To ensure 3 different winners, I'll be checking this thread several times daily....when someone has guessed correctly, I'll announce that they've won a coin, then that person or team may not guess again. 4. The cointest ends when all 3 flowers have been guessed, then I'll post my design here. Good luck!
  21. Congrats, Rhodesisland, your perseverance paid off! Hope Ronaldo didn't tap you out, because #26 made its debut today.
  22. The mission I sent to thesmurfinator was returned to me today....the "no retirado" box was checked, & an arrow was drawn to my return address. I'm glad it's all intact, I'll ship it out again when I've confirmed with thesmurfinator that she's home again from China. Whew!
  23. This may spoil the surprise, but I'm the one who sent the mission to you & Charlie, so I'm beginning to worry, too! I'll email you & see if we can think of anything to do to check on it. Shipping it internationally, I didn't set it up to be tracked, although I did ask for, & receive, verification of your address format before I mailed it. I really hope you get it, because it contains a particular LE coin I think you'd love, that I can't duplicate. Fingers crossed!
