  1. I think it would have to be my sewing machine...we've spent so many hours together, I'd be lost without it. Plus, my mother taught me to sew as a teenager, so whenever I'm laying out a pattern or stitching a seam, I feel as though she is right there beside me. The time I spend at my machine is very personal, as I sew, I pray or think about the people in my life, past & present. I hope I have time to grab my serger, too! It was a Christmas gift from my boss.

  2. That's lovely; however, it strikes me as very similar to a design that's already been done:

I bought one of these from Cache Addict a couple of years ago. It's called Shooting Star, & I believe it was designed by StarChild313, but I could be wrong about that. I don't want to discourage you, but thought you might want to know.

  3. Mailed all my trades today, each along with a little lagniappe (bonus). Yesterday I received two beautiful coins honoring a darling bunny who was very much loved!

Sent: (LAVAL K-9) (DRNEAL) (ATLANTAGAL) (SCIFICOLLECTOR)

    Receiving: (NUMAKEH) (SCIFICOLLECTOR) (NOSNOW) (STEBEN6)

I also would hate to see international trades excluded, but I have very few coins to offer. I can understand how expensive it could get for those with a lot of trades.

  4. When my personal coin design was submitted, the mint insisted on soft enamel for more than 6 or 7 colors (my design needed a minimum of 11 colors). I usually dislike soft enamel because of all the annoying reflections where it slumps inside the compartments. Mike suggested the clear epoxy coating, & I was very happy with the result. The coating does a great job of minimizing the reflections, & it's flat across most of the top. There's a slight doming (with its intrinsic reflection) around the edge. The soft enamel colors are bright, & the metal lines are fine & crisp; I think not having to grind down the top (which is necessary with IHE) helped ensure this. I didn't use any translucents in the soft enamel colors; to me, they don't have as nice an effect as in IHE. If you decide on soft enamel, I'd recommend that you get both coated & uncoated samples, to see which you prefer.
