Never played real golf before and I don't plan on it. I would much rather go caching. Although I do frisbee golf.

If all else fails there is always google earth. Just find your route on the map and look for caches along it. Theres a link to get caches to appear on google earth on the right bottom side of the "my account" page.

I would say keep it active but post in descrption that it could be unsuitable. Also maybe change the difficulty and terrain levels for the snowy part of the year.

I would like to say that I have found a cache in a spot where vehicles are not recommendod. Drove there with a minivan towing a jetski.

I use Mapcreate 6. The software came with my Lowrance iFinder. Not the easiest program to use but it can get the job done.

I've been caching for a few ywars and I've had 2 GPS's. My first was a Cobra GPS100, not a very popular brand and for good reason. It may be perectly sunny and standing in the middle of a large field and still not get a signal. My second and current GPS is a Lowrance iFinder. Another not so popular brand but it works phenomonally.

One thing I've found with error numbers on a gps is that that is the possible error. Iv'e had the error on my GPS be over a hundred feet but still found it to be dead on.

Not sure if you;d like any more choices but I personally like my Lowrance iFinder. Its not a super popular brand but it works great. Comes with an easy mode for beginners and an advanced mode once you get used to it.

I've always found it helpful to look for oddly stacked piles of branches next to a tree or something like that.

I would say always hide the actual cache before you submit it. I have heard some stories where people have tried to find a cache but it hasn;t been placed yet.

I've entered wrong coords once or twice before. USually dont figure that out until I get back home and try to figure out where I screwed up.I alsways double check the coords when I put them into m GPS too.

I have cached in NE, WI, IA, MN, SD, and Mexico if that counts for anything

There is an indoor cache at Mall of America that I found once. They had you count different objects around the park to give an address number to store. You just needed to ask the cashier at the store to give you the cache and they would. The cache is Mall of America Cache III

If you havn't been around to the Zorinski Park area there are some good caches through there. Not to mention quite a lot of them.

I've seen caches where you would find a micro and get the coords to a regular sized cache. I've never heard of anything just leading you to a logbook though.

I don't have any kids (after all I'm only 15!) but I'm in a boy scout group and take the guys cacheing sometimes. The kids in 5, 6, 7, grade can't get enough of it. One of them even got a GPS for christmas and is starting to cache.

Twice ive ran into another cacher. Once me and my buddy were sitting at the cache and a couple of other cachers walked up. The other time I saw another cacher who had just found the cache headin the opposite way on the trail. Wish I had a better story but I dont...

a traveling cache sounds earily similiar to a travel bug... And no I've never really even heard of an actually traveling "cache"

I've noticed that on many of the caches that I have found there is a green "official geocache" sticker. I think it has the Groundspeak logo on it and some other info like cache name, name of placer, ect. Anyone know where to get these things?
