  1. We just found out yesterday that Hillary was destroyed along with the entire cache that she was in :) . We moved her to 'unknown location' but would like to restart her using her 'copy' tag. We just wanted to make sure that this was not against the rules. Thanks in advance for any info.

  2. My TB Hillary started out in Wisconsin, went to Illinois then jumped to Florida. Only problem is that whoever moved her to a cache in FL never logged her in. She was picked up today from a cache in FL somewhere but the mileage was never added on because she was never logged into that cache. Is there anyway to add on the missing mileage? I wouldn't really worry about it but it is quite a distance from IL to FL.

    Thanks much!

This was only the second benchmark that we have ever done - it was really close to home so it was a logical choice. In the description, it says that it is an aluminum maker, other than a disk. We have no idea if there should be more to this or not. If anyone has any ideas, please let us know. We are totally stumped by this one - not even real sure how to log it - as found or what.

    Thanks much!

  4. Yup, in Fort Atkinson actually. They have a retail store thats pretty neat to browse around in, especially if you have kids =). I just figured that the website might make ordering the stuff easier for people who can't find the stuff locally. If you ever get up towards Madison on Hwy 12 you should make it a point to stop by and check it out, really neat place. =)

  5. Here in Wisconsin we have a place called Nasco, it's an arts/crafts supply house. You can order 'shrinky dink' material from them as well.

Go to their website at www.enasco.com and in the upper left corner there will be a search box where you can enter a part number... enter this number:

    9718610

This might be easier for those without nearby access to shrinky dinks...

    Hope this helps! =)

  6. Sorry, no longer in the market. I guess I should have posted that in the thread sooner. The wife and I picked up a new Rino 120 for Christmas, and gave our old GPS II to a local guy who's very interested/excited about geocaching but has no GPSr and can't afford to buy one. Thanks for the interest though! :P

  7. Do you say, "I'm going cache hunting," or "I'm going geocaching." How about, "I'm going to look for a cache?"

Heh, I usually say 'I'm leaving the house' or, 'I'm going to the store', or 'I'm headed to work', etc =)

Seriously though, in our family we refer to it as 'caching'... IE 'Hey kids... wanna go caching?'

  8. I've noticed a certain individual in out area who logs finds on caches on the site as a means to advertise his own website. Rather pathetic if you ask me. None of the caches have had the log books signed, and he never never lists any details about the cache, only 'I found this, and left a new one near it, check it out at my website www.blahblahblah.geo'... I think it's a pretty poor sport that has to stoop to faking logs just to try and get a few more people to his 'pay-for-play' geocaching site ;)

  9. Hello gang.

I'm looking to upgrade to a newer GPS receiver. I've currently got a Garmin GPS II with cigarette and data cables. I would be willing to trade my existing GPS + $100 for ???. If you have something that you feel would be in my price range please feel free to email me at unixjedi at chaoticfx dot com. Thanks!
