  1. OK here's a whine: Somebody deleted 3 of my cache finds today and I have no clue who did it. Splashman was looking at our find count after you mentioned it. Ours has two different totals depending on where you check I think we were docked between 10 & 20..........we can't remember how many we had Hope it's some kind of 'upgrade?' or something! The Splashes Hey, maybe they are now automatically getting rid of duplicate finds and/or finds of your own cache (ducking and running )
  2. Mine is down three. I didn't have any duplicates. I wonder how we can find out which ones disappeared? Chuy!'s probably stealing smileys to make up for the ones that Tuna deleted... I still have my Tuna logs! Did you know that you can "tune a piano but you can't tuna fish?" Name that group for extra bonus points! REO Speedwagon? Our count is down three also... Ding! Ding! Ding! REO is correct! I am really curious as to what happened to 3 of our finds...... FWIW, I didn't lose any
  3. You guys rock! I hereby volunteer my services as a chili judge; I have two years experience Olivia! would like to volunteer for the dessert judging. WARNING: I'm going to have a hissy-fit if I don't receive a preview photo or two of the grand prize. Harmon So, Harmon, just what will you look like if you have a "hissy-fit"? Kathy Maybe if Cat paints the socks first and post a preview of that?
  4. I went to the website. I see that you can order boxers but I didn't see the thong Are we going to have an underwear party around the fire or something? I can see Fattboy being the first one at the campfire... Hey, maybe the Unbunched Sock Police can expand their skill set!
  5. I hate when this thread goes to a new page and I don't get the first whine on the new page..
  6. Guilty. I put them in if I find 'em on the way to the cache, and there's room for it, and the ball is in decent condition. I hate it when people whine - and I'm a big whiner! . Chuy, how many times have I told you... Well, that's a thread-kill if I ever saw one!
  7. Why? Actually they are in there for a good reason - the titanium core and the dimpled surface confounds the GPS satellite signals, making for a more challenging find - didn't you know that? Just be glad there are only one or two in that ammo can...
  8. I love this stuff but I don't have photoshop ... or time ... but I just want to add my appreciation for the lessons!
  9. Well, obviously you need a faster car!
  10. Don't forget to check out the new, improved ~ The SDCET TOP *50* TB . If you see it in person, feel free to "discover" it! Please let me know if I've left anyone out (sorry for everyone else with "only" 1370 finds or less - that's all I could fit in the description. ).
  11. Does this involve shtomping on ghrapes?
  12. I can think of several reasons to do that actually, for example: New cache type (we changed a multi to a traditional in the same spot) New cache theme (maybe the hider had a falling out with the person the earlier cache was named after ) Cleverer cache (ie lame film canister to super camo'd fake tree trunk) What annoyed me one time was when someone moved a cache that I'd found far away from where I found it (more than a mile). I'd have liked to have found the "new" one but couldn't since I'd already "found" it in the old location. I doubt that happens much either.
  13. I spent Sunday morning caching through MTRP till it hit 100. Then I went over to Gnome Park off the 76 and finished my caching day there till it too got above 100..... Please make it stop! If you can believe this forecast, which I'm having a hard time doing, we're going to have highs in the 70's the rest of the week.
  14. Make sure you leave some $$$ in your pocket as a FTF prize! Isn't the GPSr enough?
  15. I'm sure I'll be racing around in the Jeep all over the east county (35+-miles from home) looking for 11 more of those "Historic" caches... As long as you are visiting those caches anyway, would you mind signing my name in the log book? Or you can sign mine! I probably don't even have to ask!
  16. Ah, very tempting - I like REI's warranty! But.. I'd have to get new maps, won't I? (have CS now)
  17. Butting in?! Congrats on the 2500th Banter post!! On edit: err, 2501 - but the first of the new page!
  18. That is really cool, just think of all the work that goes into getting all that information. Looks like mainly a lot of driving around in a van with a 360 degree camera on the roof - here's a glimpse of it on Miramar Rd
  19. I don't know if anyone has mentioned that Google Maps now has "Street View" for San Diego. Now you can look for those drive up caches from home!
  20. Heh - here's my take (if only to validate SDCET adventures): if you were at the cache site, and you saw the cache, and your name ended up in the log book, then you can log it online.
  21. Wow, that's great! Since I'm in Encinitas, I will look for it! How did you come up with 12:30? Well...it's a guesstimate. Landing is at 12:49 and so I figure that by being outdoors about 20 minutes prior to touchdown you guarantee yourself the opportunity of seeing/hearing it. It probably will be a little after 12:30 when it goes overhead, but get out a little early just to be sure. The shuttle won't go sub-sonic until about 5 minutes before touchdown somewhere over Palmdale. RocketMan would probably be able to give you an exact time and location when it crosses the coast. I'm just going on the fact that it'll be going maybe Mach 2 and be about 10-15 minutes from touchdown when it hits the coast. It is currently 45 minutes from landing, and about 12 minutes before it enters the atmosphere (~ 80 miles in altitude) --TT-- Here's a live map: http://www.n2yo.com/ Couldn't spot it with my nekkid eyes, but heard the sonic booms!

  24. Wow, that's neat - what elevation exaggeration and terrain quality do you have Google Earth set to?
