  1. They aren't immune. No, this doesn't look like immunity to me either: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300667
  2. I can tell you it can be done because I did it (you create a "draw" layer and export that layer). The reason I've quickly forgotten exactly how I did it is because once I imported 1000 caches, I quickly discovered that the only way to get them off the PDA is to delete them one at a time (so they are still sitting there). Hopefully I can just delete all the maps and reinstall them.
  3. Here's something that I bet Jeremy could do fairly easily - let us upload a background image and "hook" it into the table cell on the left side - like this: Sample Cache Listing
  4. Ha! Made you look! On edit: FWIW, I did the background that way to avoid having to address the issue once the site changed. Thanks for pointing out the problem with the print-friendly version of the page.
  5. I haven't tried that yet - but would it use more ink than if the image was the background on the old cache page?
  6. How about this one? I really like the new site layout and I think hiders can easily manage to get all the graphic elements they need in the cache description. Jeremy has given us our sandbox and we should let him do what he wants in his.
  7. So can you tell us the sordid tale of this cache (without spoilers in case you re-use the cache somewhere else)?
  8. Here's a clue: Use IE and highlight this: Do the same thing there
  9. Got to 14 - which looks easier than it is! On edit: ha, got that one! Working on Stage 3 of the next set (codes)
  10. Ouch! Hope he's fixed up quickly.. Say, this might be a good time for everyone to release their new caches!
  11. Figured it out: http://www.californiacoastline.org/cgi-bin/location.cgi?latdeg=32&latmin=58.652+&longdeg=117&longmin=16.211&mode=sequential Result
  12. I hadn't noticed earlier that the California Coastal Records Project has photos of our coastline - I remember looking a year or so ago and they were missing at least our area (Del Mar/Solana Beach). Here's a photo of our Secret Garden Runaround cache (came in handy today ) on edit: changed the link to the photo to meet their requirements - ps, you can also do this: http://www.californiacoastline.org/cgi-bin/location.cgi?latdeg=latitude&longdeg=longitude&mode=sequential but I haven't gotten it to work yet.
  13. Funny you should mention that because we were just looking at this and wondering about it: Daley Ranch On edit - thanks to TT for the link to that site!
  14. Looks like Deg, Min, Sec. Here's our cache coords: N 32° 58.652 W 117° 16.211 And their coords: James Scripps Bluff Preserve San Diego park 325841N 1171612W
  15. Not sure about the format - I'll look at something nearby and see if I can figure it out. A GPX file would have been great!
  16. Those are nice looking charts - does anyone use Garmin's topo? Just wondering if they would show the trails in a 60cs. BTW, has anyone seen these before? Pretty neat: San Diego points of interest #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, other counties
  17. Wow, that's a great plate! We'll be looking for you now!
  18. P.P.P.S. Rocket Man, I SPY I-5 is going to be a notorious TB "outing" cache soon!
  19. Yikes! Nice thread recovery though!
  20. It looks like K-NIC does not post here much but if he's reading this, we recovered the two EWING PRESERVE caches today - mainly because we had put a TB into one and were worried the Rancho Santa Fe Security guys were going to confiscate them since they were archived three weeks ago. We'll put the TB's into our Secret Garden Math Runaround cache and return the caches to K-NIC when he gets back to us.
  21. I feel nervous looking for caches without the kids a lot - particularly those that are stashed under power line towers. P.S. Parsa, we sent you an email re Colony Olivenhain with a photo of one of the buildings - can we log it yet? P.P.S. Hmm, remind me not to go by the tooltips when using the clickable smiles here.
  22. The Keyhole images look better and load faster but they really need to make it easy to fly around like you would in a video game. But Google has it now so I'm sure it'll go places - we'll probably subscribe to it because it is cool and will be fun to go and buzz around places where people we know live.
  23. Works for us - here's what we use: Waypoint Name: %drop2-%typ1%con1%dif1%ter1%bug Maximum chars: 10 Cache Description Format: %hint As mentioned, you only get the first 30 chars of the hint. Our waypoint names look like this: 11DA-TR46Y So we know the GC code is GC11DA, it's a Traditional Cache with a Regular Container, Diff is 2/3 and there are TB's in it.
  24. That's very cool - I had tried out the free NASA one earlier but it really takes a toll on my CPU. I can't quite get the hang of navigating this one though, although I got pretty good at flying around in the NASA one. Fun stuff!
  25. Can you explain this? You mean via serial or USB? How do you transfer waypoints? Thanks for any info!
