1. Unfortunately, updating to that version also seems to have rendered all my cool scripts nonfunctional Are they still working for anyone else?
2. Sometimes you have to be subtle - does anyone notice anything unusual about this webcam photo? It's actually a composite of 6 different photos. Most of the people in it were not in the same shot together. I bet Harmon recognizes the place!
3. That does somewhat sound like a private park in spite of the "general public" clause.
4. Where's the picture of that Jeep TB they towed back with them?
5. Top 10 reasons for logging a find on your own cache: 10. You forgot where you hid it 9. The last 10 finders moved it incrementally away from the original spot ... (help me out here!)
6. Hey, did'yall notice that google maps is now a ) available by lat/lon and b ) has keyhole sat photos? http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.976826,-117.270116&spn=0.007510,0.006266&t=k&hl=en Google sat photo of Secret Garden Runaround
7. FWIW, I have a Tungsten E which is color but it's very hard to read when out in the field, unlike my 60cs. It would be nice to have a PDA with a "transflective" screen like the 60cs.
8. Whaddaya, nuts? What about when he did that OTHER cache:
9. It's not exactly paperless - well, it is paperless, but not very portable - but I've just been playing around with exporting caches from GSAK to Keyhole. It's very cool flying over San Diego looking down at caches as if you were an eagle! If anyone has Keyhole and GSAK and wants to know how, let me know. I'll post some photos here once I figure out where to put them. Rob
10. I'd settle for different data fields for navigation and non-navigation modes. Doesn't make sense to look at blank fields (like time to next, time to destination) when you aren't going anywhere.
11. FYI, there is a forum made just for posts like this: TESTING, TESTING, 2116...
12. Also, we may as well have a FTL - First To Log. No verification needed, we can all see that's the case!
13. Here's another hint: Get a flying car!
14. Yay, finally one I could actually figure out!
15. This sounds interesting - I have a 60cs, Palm Tungsten E (no serial) and have been pretty successful using GSAK and Cachemate but seem to hit my fair share of stumbling blocks regularly.
16. Hi, Clyde, The backup is 6 megs so I'm going to have to somehow copy the recently logged caches to another db to send to you (assuming they still have the same problem). It only appears in logs dated 3/2-3/3, which is why I thought it might be a gc.com thing. Here's what one looks like (in offline browser): Details are from the offline database last updated on 3/3/2005 3/2/2005 by idiosyncratic This cache is less than 500 feet from the location of my very first cache find. Of course everything is different now. The fire has taken out those bushes and... well... I had daylight today... Thanks for the cache Night Hunter encoded="False">sl good hide. encoded="False">Made the find just after 4pm. Gotta love those Duscwe! caches. No mud but a few muggles. Rode my bike from the parking lot and continued onto the Tortoise and Oak Canyon. TNLNSL encoded="False">Now that this cache has been approved, and found (Congratulations Chuy), I wanted to make sure the Miraculous Babel Fish: Arthur Dent's B-Fish got logged in correctly.
17. I'm not sure when this started (maybe geocaching.com update?) but now my GSAK logs seems to start with encoded="False"> The best way to see this is look at a cache visited recently using the offline option. I actually never used that but started seeing the same thing in my cachemate logs after exporting from GSAK. At first I thought it might be a cachemate problem, until I looked at the offline listing in GSAK.
18. Jeepers, Sally of The Senior Sleuths is a miracle worker!
19. Unfortunately, you used the wrong link (edit.aspx only works for owners!) for Happy Jack's Chopper - you need to use details.aspx! Also note you can use the TB reference number in the URL, like this: Version for logs: Samuel's Ride Version for pages: Samuel's Ride On edit - actually, it works fine on the Samuel's Ride link on Happy Jack's page - just not on the Happy Jack's link on Samuel's Ride page.
20. Well, this is probably not a supported solution, but it seems if you export to MapSource and then to the GPS, the dash still goes! That's what I'm doing until they remove it there too! After all, Garmin doesn't yet have a problem with Mapsource doing it!
21. I wanted to thank K-NIC for all the new caches nearby! Too bad a. the notify bot just now notified me and b. there are so many cachers desperate enough to FTF in the pouring rain! On edit - pesky little icon!
22. Are the flowers blooming early this year because of the rain? That sounds like a fun day.
23. You should be proud of your lower-case offspring. At his current rate, he'll have 1134 finds by the time he's been caching as long as you have!
