  1. We need a "cache event" calendar - I'm losing track and I'd like to take part. Can someone rehash what's currently on the docket? Are they all this Saturday?
  2. I'm looking forward to the lesson on turning the dogs around!
  3. I wonder if Chuy has revisited their profile since making his comment on it in his log?
  4. But do they have 4 different threads! If not, they are already eating dust!
  5. Let me guess, that's the 52 cutting around MTRP? Santee on the right? Yup! I sure have my work cut out for me!
  6. Ah, ya gotta love San Diego.... (at least, those of us who haven't found all the local caches yet! )
  7. Not a problem - we voted for the photo we thought was best and it wasn't ours!
  8. If it's anything like our 60CS, it's probably turning off because the batteries are momentarily losing contact. It's a known problem with the original 60CS's (which we have) which we've solved (sort of) by putting some padding behind the battery contacts. However, some batteries are longer than others and it still turns off if we bump it when we use "short" ones.
  9. It looks like it's around $400-$500 for a non-student. I could probably swing $100-$150. How nice a price do they offer students/teachers?
  10. Well, unless I become a student (unlikely) , CS2 is a bit out of my price range, so I'll do my best to interpret the lessons!
  11. I'm using Corel PHOTO-PAINT, so I'm not sure how helpful a lesson would be!
  12. P.S. to Trailgators - what kind of Dodge do you have? Kinda curious to know what's within the limits of our Dakota.
  13. Well, uhm, maybe the thread name is out of focus?
  14. Great, now I'm off on a distraction to get that in my forum sig (which is probably not going to work!) - On edit: it did work, as a link!
  15. Where do you get these made? I assume you don't have your own penny smasher!
  16. Hey, Tex&Capie submitted an awesome Demelza photo - if you want to vote for it, click on this photo: Here's ours but I have to say, we're voting for theirs! If anyone else has submitted one, please post them here!
  17. The other problem is that %drop2 isn't always 4 characters. Older caches might have 3 or even 2! Hehe, I bet we all do it differently! My complete one for my GPSr (which allows 10 chars) is: %drop2%bug=+-%typ1%con1%dif1%ter1%last4. So the infamous Mad Eye Moody looks like this: PX5Z-TU53F. That way at a glance, I can see the GC code, whether there's a TB in it, the type, container, difficulty and whether it was last found or not found (note: I have to use MapSource to move these into my GPSr because GSAK (i.e GPSBabel) won't allow transferring the +/- chars). For cachemate, it looks like this: %drop2-%typ1%con1%dif1%ter1-%shortname. Similar, except I don't want the TB or found flags (the waypoint has to be constant). Plus it's not limited to 10 chars. By starting them both with %drop2, I can cross reference them easily. Right now for GoogleEarth, I'm using this: %drop2/%typ1%con1%dif1%ter1/%last4/%shortname But it just gets too cluttered. Still looking for an easy way to make the waypoint labels only appear when you mouseover an icon.
  18. I always make sure my waypoint names start with the GC code minus the GC (%drop2) - that way you can cross reference them anywhere you use them
  19. Ours was "Tow Package" - but after seeing yours, I doubt we have a chance!
  20. Thanks! This might be helpful too: Recreation Passes of the Pacific Southwest
  21. The Adventure Pass is worthless? REI was happy to sell me one quite recently. When did this happen?
  22. Has anyone noticed something amiss with bookmarks lately? Any that I've added in the past few days do not have the distance from our home coords.
  23. Uh, 0.257 That's good, right? As in, NO WIDOW?
