  1. No, and I find it hard to believe too. However, I did take one of our kids's bikes back and traded it in for a new one. Of course, they had recalled the first one and we'd only bought it a month before but... But it was on one of the SD threads here that I first heard about their generous warranty coverage, so hopefully that person(s) will chime in with their real world experience. On edit: Here's their warranty - seems pretty open-ended: "If you're ever dissatisfied with an item, you may return or exchange your REI.com purchases at any REI store or through mail order." We are the "real world" proof! How is that 60csx?! P.S. It's neat how when I copied and paste the text from the REI web site into my post, the links embedded in it stayed intact!

  3. See now, if you had bought that from REI for $199 instead of on E-Bay for $29, then you'd be able to take it back and get a new one for "free!" Actually my company bought me that one so it was free! It was that latest model when I got it. Unfortunately the replacement won't be free. Edit: REI sells Palm Pilots? I'm afraid not - but if their warranty is all it's cracked up to be, I'd probably pay an extra $100 to buy my next GPSr there. It would have been nice to simply trade my 60cs in for a 60csx!

  5. Do you have any I can buy directly; I don't care to register with the website. I'll take three if you have them, one of each color. I feel the same way (about the web site) - I'd like to buy one just to support the family. I believe only the one on the right (?) is actually for sale though. But don't quote me on that!

  7. Did you ever get the help you needed with this one?
  8. It kinda looks like this (but then, they all sorta look alike): (or did you mean the tunnel? )
  9. We managed to visit your beautiful area last weekend! Unfortunately, the kids were so, uh, involved in "tubing" down the slopes, we only managed to snag three caches! But what was going on with the dam bridge? The good thing is that it got us to go around the north side of the lake twice! The bad thing is, well, you know.
  10. ok, i'm following this.. (but don't QUOTE me on that! )
  11. Thanks C4! Can you buy them without using Paypal (long story why ...won't go into it here)? Ummmm, yeah... The only problem is that I did it the old fashioned way of cutting and pasting HTML... (I'd actually have to think to do it the new way... ) That way works too! This is sure going to make conversations easier to follow - NOT!
  12. I guess it's up to us to make that link useful!

  15. That's a good point! I wouldn't want the number of caches I load chopped way down by having tons of parking and other waypoints loaded into my geepus..... You can exclude the additional waypoints when importing into GSAK (so if you want them for a specific cache, you'd have to load it separately, I guess). How? I don't see that option in the "Load" dialog box. RM In the Load GPX dialog box, toward the right hand side, there's a checkbox labeled "Exclude 'Waypoints' when loading Geocaching.com GPX files" - I'm assuming that's the option?

  17. Hmm, must've scaired ever'body away with that drag'n.. Or did you banter us into oblivion this time?
  18. Anyone caching this weekend? Unfortunately, probably not me, but where'd everyone go!?!
  19. We're coming up to Big Bear for one night in mid-to-late February - really to check out the area rather than grab a bunch of caches but... If you only had time to do a handful of caches, which ones would you recommend would give us the best feel for the area (assuming they aren't buried under snow by then)? Thanks for any suggestions!

  21. Wow, how far up did you go in the mustang?
  22. Doh, I tried to process all the caches in greater San Diego but the program blew up... Too bad, I thought that would be interesting. On Edit: It doesn't seem to like GSAK-generated gpx files
