  1. So I just picked up the Oregon 600 and I love it.

However for the past 2 hours been trying to figure out the bluetooth. on the gps there is basecamp and yet its not available for down load and the connect only lists the Oregon 7 series in the app

and btw my iPhone and GPS won't connect ahhhhh

I am sure this is simple right????

  2. HI All

I got some coorindated off of Google earth as follows

    43 degrees 39'40.56" N

    79 degrees 23'16.02"W

how do I make these into how geocaching translates their coordinates?

Please don't use Google Earth to place a cache ... it is a notoriously inaccurate source of position data. I've seen it be out by 300 metres in some places

I am not I am using it to get the corrdinates of an urban building as my GPS was off by 30 meters

  3. I will make it an easy one

What and where is the highest point in Nova Scotia?

is it the highlands in Cape Breton? I think it is a National or provincial park

I just got back from Halifax

  4. A quick question for this round.... WAAS is comprised of 3 main segments- the Ground segment, the Space segment, and the User segment. The Ground Segment is composed of multiple Wide-area Reference Stations (WRS)....

The question is... how many WRS's are there?

    three?

  5. I see in the father's day flyer for Bass Pro Shops a Garmin 200 is going for 449....not really a great deal but still it says 50 bucks off

I hope we get a price drop with the 550 coming out soon

  7. The Canadaian Aboriginal Festival, and I do believe it's in Hamilton this year

AWESOME! you are correct...it is a great festival and its first year in Hamilton it has been named Skydome Pow Wow as it was held there for about 15 years

    the floor is yours

  8. The last question doesn't appear to be drawing any interest. I'll intercept with a new one to keep things moving.

I am astounded that none of the astute minds perusing this quiz know the answer to this question. Perhaps it is because very few of us actually look at this part of the map of Canada. The answer is the Dempster Highway and the community at the end of the road is none other than the largest settlement of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region, Inuvik. I aspire to drive the Dempster Highway this summer.

  9. HI I am in Halifax Next week and was wondering if anyone can point out some great caches in and around halifax.

I am big history buff so any recommendations of great sites and caches?

  10. I like the numbers and to be honest really pushes me to get out there. I do agree though that the places that you are taken really make it worth while.

When my daughter was in the area we would do a bunch or the various park series and included some singing and sliding along with the find. I new to the Druham region and almost consider geocaching my unoffical tour guide to various areas

  11. HI I like everyone else loves a good sale. I am hoping this thread will be used by others to notify them of sales or clearance items for caching. I see that a lot of people in the other forums talk about sales in the US and nothing here in Canada.

So Can you put up the date and store you saw the special at please

so to start us off I saw a Magellan eXplorist 500 LE on clearance at a Canadian tire for 120 this week
