  1. If we start at 7am I'm going to want to camp nearby on the night before. Who else might be camping?

there are several of us camping at cougar rock campground. we are in sites C33,34,and 36. there were plenty of sites when i registered last week.

Good to know. Anyone have space to share in their campsite?

I'm sure there is plenty of space in all 3. these are RV pull-through spaces that are big. they also have tent pads.

  3. I am in for the june 30th date and have 5 others that are coming with me. we have been doing a bunch of training hikes to make sure we are in good shape. we are hiking Mt. Si at 6:45 in the morning tomorrow if anyone is interested. 645 at the trailhead. for the miur hike we are planning on bringing the rv's to longmire and staying over the night before.

  4. I'm interested in going also. One of my neighbors and I were just talking about going this summer. He has been up multiple times and was going to take me and a couple others. i'll see if he would be interested in going. His GC name is quadrasteer and he hasn't found alot of caches but most are at the tops of monntains.

  5. I was beginning to wonder if the Kittitas county geocachers still existed. A new cache popped up near Kittitas and E-burg in early November (John Wayne Trail GCNZY6) and so far the only ones who have found it are non Kittitas county cachers (Gadget from Grant county and myself from Chelan county). The cache is a month old. Where are the Kittitas county cachers? unsure.gif

;) Ahh what's that nasty four letter word I'm thinking of ?

:( SNOW!! but that is melting away for the time being.

;) What's that other four letter word..

:( COLD -- 10F doesn't get me too excited about finding a cache..

;) It's on the to do list..

    BTW --

I know there are these cachers in the neighborhood besides myself...

:( This of course make me think I'll have to put the first foot forward and organize the first Kittitas County Cachers meeting.. Probably have to do this after the first of the year. :P:(

Team Wallace works with me and finally gave in and moved to the wetside. they now live in maple valley. just FYI

  6. we made it off the mountain with only a few mishaps after 14.41 miles (little Blues track calc.) it was a great hike with a great group with at least one of out group hitting 18 caches on our trek. Thanks All for the great hike. I'm going to let some of the others tell the stories. <_<

  7. Sorry I was going to post the coords but wasn't able to get there today and mark the parking lot. Head for cedar falls and you will see us parked in the first lot when you arrive at rattlesnake lake. this is the lot for the trailheadwe will be returning on.

See you all in the morning ;)

  8. I won't be around to help with the actual machine but will still be accesable through the computer. Since I've done about 90% of the caches there should be able to work on building up the route. I've played around with it alot it S&T and know most of the caches that wouldn't work on a cache machine.

Or..... since there already was a Bellingham cache machine it could move a bit south.... perhaps an Anacortes cache machine?

That sounds good maybe even out onto the Island.

  9. Decided I would start a new thread for this one so people would see it. it is a carryover from the Mt Si cache machine thread.

Here was my last post in that thread.

So I was just starting the planning for next weekends Hike along rattlesnake ridge. Here's what I was thinking so far.

Meet at 9am at the Rattlesnake lake trailhead (off exit 32 go south) from there we leave some vehicles and head back to the starting point.

here are the caches along the way:

    Goodfellow

    Easter cache

    H2O Tower #3

    stumped at the Winery

    Snoqualmie Point

    the sound os music

    the BIG Kahauna #2

    Velcro

    Rattlesnake rest stop

    owen creek cache

    RMT prospect peak

    rattlesnake mountain - east peak

rattlesnake mountain - log jam landing

    rattlesnake ridge

    snakes that rattle 2

    snake bite

    rattlesnake cache

    cedar falls

and a few more are located at the rattlesnake lake end of the hike. This is the long list and a few of these may need to be removed for us to make the hike a little more streamlined.

  10. All right....Cruiser Guy and I have been talking about doing this Mt Si hike for a while, and we've made a plan - two, actually. Who wants to join us?

Mt Si hike - Sunday, Oct. 9. Meet 9 am at TBA. We'll look at doing it as a thru-hike, per MA's suggestion.

    Top Side

    SiHi

    Yep! Up There!! - maybe

    Any others? If through-hike, add:

    Top of Teneriffe (TNAB)

    Path Less Travelled

Rattlesnake Ridge hike - Sunday, Oct. 16. Meet 9 am at TBA. Cache list TK.

  11. I think it's exit 31, not 32. You can use Cruiser Guy's starting coords for his Under the Clock Tower cache (GCMDDM), which is right next to the Starbucks, or the following minutely-closer-to-Sbux coords: N 47 29.288, W 121 47.521.

One reason I'm fairly certain it's exit 31 and not 32 is that it took me three separate tries to score CG's Clock Tower Night Cache, and I remembered taking exit 31 each blessed time. Anyway, the aforementioned coords are good for the meeting place no matter which exit you take!

The weather looks great today--hope it holds for tomorrow.

You are correct, it is exit 31 and not 32. sorry about that  and my under the clock tower is right in front of the Starbucks.

  12. Are we still gonna do it as a thru-hike? Then we'll need to run over the end point and drop off a vehicle - which would be where, exactly?

ifwe do it as a thru hike the end point is just a little down the road from the start point. we can decide if that looks like a good plan and we can drop a vehicle or 2 before we start at the trailhead. They are not that far aparton the same road. I've done the other caches so it would just be the hike for me, I'll leave it up to the rest of the group.

  13. How about we meet at the starbucks off exit 32 that is right next to Safeway. From there we can either carpool over to the trailhead or just all drive over it is only about 5 minutes away. That should be an easy place for all of us to meet up.

  15. So I will not be making it after all, to many things to overcome to get there. Thought I still might make it but.....man I'm bummed. I'll have to run the route after the fact. I Will miss seeing everybody and all the fun.
