  1. The caches are now showing on the beta maps. Really like the changes in this release!
  2. Love the new maps! Can we hide the ones we have found and hidden?
  3. I thought there would be some delay, I didn't know it began before the shutdown. Maybe they were just letting the queues clear out before starting their work. In any event, I can wait. I was just curious to see if there was any estimate on when things would catch up.
  4. Seems to be working pretty well now but I still don't have PQs that should have come by now.
  5. Once, while caching with wimseyguy, I spotted the most enormous adult toy I've ever seen on the ground in the woods. And it had duct tape wrapped around the middle of it! Heck I thought, it has duct tape on it, someone must have put a cache inside that thing. Just as I was reaching for it, wimseyguy calls out "got it" from about 15-20 feet away. I jerked my hand back just in time. I'm so glad he said that BEFORE I picked it up. That toy must have seen some serious use if it had to be repaired with duct tape.
  6. That's the file for uploading Field Notes. One of the best features IMO of the OR and now the 62. I kind of missed the calendar on the 60's for awhile but field notes keeps them in order and you can upload them and never have to type in GC numbers or go through the cache page to log your finds/DNFs. Each field note has a link directly to the log page with the date and log type already filled in.
  7. Yes, but if you want suggestions please let us know what you like because one person's good is another person's most disliked.
  8. I had been using IE 8. I just tried it with Firefox 3.5.5 and it works.
  9. You might get a quicker response posting at the Charlotte group site here or at the NCGO site here
  10. I have the same problem trying to access a bookmark list (not mine) that is defined as public. http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.a...5b-a14042102ae3 edit to add When I log in as ncgeocachers.org (the bookmark list owner) I can't view it either but I can edit it. I CAN view 2 other bookmark lists owned by ncgeocachers.org. Odd.
  11. Love the new 1K limit! Thanks for all the hard work.
  12. I like the Lock & Lock brand but not many of the others that are out there. Lock & Lock's seem to seal and hold up best. There was one other brand that I've heard good things about but I don't recall the name and haven't had any personal experience with it. However, even with the Lock & Lock, I've had a few lately where the locking tabs have broken off after repeated openings over 2+ years out in the elements. Once a tab breaks or even get very worn, it doesn't hold down the lid as tightly. I'll still use them in places where I don't want to place an ammo can, but I think they need to be checked on after being out for awhile.
  13. Wow! Congratulations - I'm sure you had fun and that's what really 'counts'!
  14. Not too many locals come here very often. You might want to try, NCGO and Triad Yahoo Group
  15. We have a NCGO Greatest Hits List divided into region and category. There are several categories you can filter on within a region or across the state.
  16. If your trip will mostly be caches along a route, you can create all the routes and save them as long as you like. Create a PQ from 5, run and delete them. You still have the route and can just create another PQ from the route when you want to run it again later on. It's pretty quick to create the PQ from a route you already have created and saved.
  17. I only got one of five early this morning EST. I copied the remaining four just now and they ran quickly. Same workaround as usual. I'm glad to hear that the overhaul is coming soon.
  18. I've been having this problem too. I think since the site update last week but don't remember for sure. Using both IE7 and IE8, On XP and Vista (I'll try on W7 tonight). It's annoying, but clicking refresh one or more times usually gets me to the list. Hope it gets resolved but it isn't keeping me from getting what I want/need, just slowing me down a bit. Thanks for looking into the issue.
  19. I've been pushing to provide such a list but there has to be some additional buy-off from other people in the organization first. It is unlikely that we will be able to share what the fix priorities are on various issues, though - that just opens up a whole can of worms. Just curious here... You guys have some type of database to keep track of bugs and fixes don't you? I doubt it's all kept track of by email or on paper. Without knowing anything about how you track these, is there enough information stored where you could periodically, maybe monthly, run a query and publish a list of known bugs in some type of priority order? Omit anything that is internal or sensitive, just a list with a title or brief description of the problem and a feel for how long it might be down the road would be helpful. Really, anything beyond the next few months could just be lumped into a 'sometime in the future' category since I suspect we're mostly interested in what we're going to be getting soon. When you release a new build and there are a flurry of new bugs or change requests, it would be nice if us users could see a more frequent list of items to be worked that were caused or associated with the new release only. We could check on that to see if our problem has been reported and accepted. We'd get fewer repeated problem posts because "this thread is n pages long and I'm not going to read it". Whether they say that or not. Just thinking out loud, but I imagine lots of us would like to see some kind of future work/known issue list and know if it's going to be worked soon or if we need to keep finding alternate solutions. At least everything that I usually use is working this time so it could have been worse (for me). Change is good, testing is better, a limited functionality test site that more of us could preview a future release and provide feedback on would be awesome!
  20. Good luck with that. I used to have an id there but it must have been deleted through lack of use. I tried to sign up a couple weeks ago and still haven't had my id approved by an admin.
  21. I found one. It rained most of the day here but stopped after sunset and I got an unexpected invitation to go out and find a new night cache not too far away. We had a lot of fun walking through the woods in the fog. Might have started a new Christmas tradition.
  22. Mine also. Note that I had to log out and back in again for it to take effect. Many thanks for resolving the issue Yep, that did it. Thanks for the tip. Sure can't count on GS to let us know. Everyone should just take it as a fact of computer life, that if something is changed (website, application, etc.) that you should log out and back in to be sure the changes are made for you. Not just here, but everywhere. I disagree. I have an open ticket that hasn't been responded to yet and there is this thread that GS hasn't commented on lately. All along, some parts of the site were saying I was in the Premium Members group, others were not. It was not at all clear to me that logoff/logon was required and since we haven't been told from those who fixed the problem, how could we know for sure? I wasn't even sure it was fixed just because one or two people said they were back to normal. I'll grant that it often will solve a problem like this, but without communication from those fixing the problem that they've done something and that we might need to logoff/logon to see the changes, it isn't clear at all.
