  7. Hello everyone. Below is a picture of the final product. As before, the coin is 50mm x 28mm x 20mm and will fit right beside the NorMan (Manitoba) coin. This will be a good start at a project mentioned a year ago to have all the Prov. groups make a coin that could be put together to make the outline of Canada. The coin will be available in 2 finishes - Gold / Silver The total production run will consist of 125 Gold & 175 Silver for a total of 300 coins produced. All coins will be trackable on geocaching.com and will have a custom icon. The gold (Special Edition) coins can only be purchased at a 1 to 1 ratio with the silver. Price: $10.00 CDN + S&H (+pst in Sask) Billing and shipping will start once the coins arrive from the mint sometime between July 12 - 16th. All sales will be handled through Northbound Trading Co. and will be listed there for sale once the coins arrive. At this time, there are only about 120 coins still available. We are still taking pre-orders. You can either post the number of coins wanted here, or send an email to my profile. parker2

  9. Try and email the branch and let them know what you want to do. It won't hurt.
  10. Ok here is the skinny on NWA's They are administered by the Canadian Wildlife Service under the Canadian Wildlife Act (with exception of CFB Suffield NWA that is administered by the DND. One would have to go on the net to see what is in the act or contact the CWS through Enviroment Canada for further information. Hope this helps. parker2
  11. An earthcache is basicaly a virtual, and these were never baned by PC and the only allowed cache in the interm policy. But it should be ouit soon.
  12. LOL Thanks for catching the typo..... I wonder how many of the ones below the 49th would of noticed that.... better yet.... there are some north of the 49th, East of 106 and West of 54, that missed it! Thanks again!
  13. Well, after a bit of hard work, The Saskatchewan Geocaching Association is proud to announce that the presale of our coin will begin within a few weeks. Below is the image of our final coin design. Once the presale begins, I will repost to this thread for the final costs and ordering methods. There will be a LE version, but The counts are not final, nor are the 2 finishes. We will have to run a presale as our group has little funding. parker2 Saskatchewan Geocaching Association http://www.skgeocaching.com/

  15. Just to sum up this answer... yes the interim policy is still in effect, and the draft policy is still being hammered out. With any luck, the policy will be out late spring to early summer. Keep your ears and eyes open.
  16. You missed this one from the last list Saskatchewan Geocaching Association A.K.A. SaskCachers Our Link - www.skgeocaching.com Our other link - www.saskcachers.com Contact info can be found on the above site This group covers everything within the borders of Saskatchewan. - We are a non-profit organization with funds hopefully coming from donations - We have a membership of over 100 that reside in every corner of the Province. - We have planned or are planning events all over the Province. - We embarked on an Interprovincial event cache with our friends from Manitoba that will be held early this June. - We are looking at a CITO event this fall at a Prov. park as well. - Our first Provincial Geocoin is in the works (design process is complete, just getting ready to mint and presale). - We have an Executive of 4, and beginning to put some committees together for some avenues we are looking at. Think that should about cover it.
  17. WOW... all this for a sticker. I seen so much of this on this and other forums. There is nothing wrong with selling something for a small profit, even something like this that can be made. Some people do not have the tallent or time to create an item, so this might be a service to them. I have seen geocache stenciles for sale along with the printable version (free) for the people who have the time and craftyness to cut them out themselves. I've seen forum posts on prices of geocoins and cachers cutting them down because they thought the cost was too high. Now the way I see it is..... If a groop or individual wants to sell something, and someone wants to buy it, they will.... the rest who like the idea, and have the ability to create it themselves will. I have no problem spending $5.00 on something that I might be able to make myself, especially when I know the profits are going to a groop that can educate geocachers on ethics in the field. Hats off to the MBGA and there education programs that they have for the members and newbies. There is my 2 cents....
  18. how about "Cache in Education" Actually I might use that lol

  22. A cache will take me to a cache .... but it should be somewhere special... not just a walmart parking lot. **** EDIT**** I guess I should not say that as the parking lot caches might have someting special for the person who placed it
  23. Beautiful coin ... Hats off to you!!!! Received mine today... guess slippery was closer. lol I will be donating 2 of the 4 to the group here at our next event cache. Hopefully they will enjoy them as much as I do. parker2 - SaskCachers.com - Admin
  24. I've been shying away from making a post here as I am the total outdoors type. I hunt, fish, geocache, hike, camp.... basically anything outdoors. lol I really feel for all the individuals that have been involved in a hunting accident. I have seen on the news, every year, and almost every province, accidents that have happened. There is always someone at fault, and it is always the one behind the sights with the hand on the trigger. Every hunter safety/firearm safety class teaches "BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND BEYOND", but some of the people with "buck feaver" tend to forget this. I remember a few years ago while out hunting, myself and 2 others were on point waiting while the other 9 were pushing a bush for us. After about 5min. a huge 170+ came out of a third bush about 50 yards away from me.... a perfect shot... but i did not know where the other guy on point exactly was at that time... so I did not take the shot. That simple. IMHO... The ones that can not follow the rules, should have there hunting revoked for some time and forced to retake the hunter / firearm safety classes. When ever I head out caching on lands where I know hunting exists (basically anything rural), i wear a bright colour jacket and make noise like whistling a favorite tune. I know that the gov's will not mark each and every piece of land that hunters can use as it would be too costly to mark every entrance or access point. I do not know what the answer is to stop this completly as there is already the education side for the hunter and common sence for the other users. Maybe a bit more advertising for the other users through tv, news paper, park hand-outs, etc. might help out. This is one thread that will ( and has ) poped up from time to time, and I think I will have to put a message up on our prov. geocaching site every year reminding the members that hunting can exist in a caching area. My best idea would be to get members to mention this in there cache pages as bold text or an icon.
