  1. Actually, I don't know of any cars where you can squirt the washer fluid and then turn on your wipers at will. Am I misreading this? Are you saying there is too long of a delay until the fluid starts and the wipers wipe? I didn't see that problem on mine, but that would be annoying. Both my wife's Camry and my old Toyota pickup had a separate button for the washer fluid. My old Datsun Pickup, my old Honda Civic, my old Chevy Celebrity, and my dad's Ford Courier all had separate washer switches that wouldn't turn on the wipers.
  2. Jeremy ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, though.....I think he's done a fantastic job. Who knows, maybe one of those other guys mentioned may have done as well, or better, but in business, you snooze you lose! Obviously, Jeremy isn't a snoozer! It's sad when folks like that are so insecure that they have to bash anyone better then themselves. Keep it coming, Jeremy......
  3. I have emailed several cachers in the Salina area asking for information. Interestingly, there seems to be about a dozen cachers in that area that are Sheriff's Officers, so I'm sure one of them will be willing to help. They all use "SasoXXX" (x=variable numbers) as their handle, so it's easy to find them. I'll wait and see if any are willing to help. That's their job, right? Protect and Serve and Publicly Embarass?
  4. An earlier post mentioned that violation of the rules of the Jeep game could result in the contest being closed. So, if by selling a YJTB is akin to making purchase necessary to enter (or to making the purchase akin to a lottery), that would be a violation of the rules, and thereby could result in nobody winning anything from Jeep. And if that happened, I doubt Jeep would make any more offers to help gc.com again. Yeah, that sale of a "toy car" on eBay could have very devestating effects! Since the location of the seller is only 60 miles north of me, I will do some investigation on my own with the locals and see what I can dredge up.
  5. Why? You're asking the same question over and over again after you've been given plenty of replies. Can I report your posts as Spam? Yeah, and you can probably send him a PM and call him an idiot like he did to me.
  6. No, you didn't answer my question, nor did you answer his. My question (well, one of them anyway) is what are you trying to say?
  7. I think the bigger question in all of this is, why does it matter and why do you insist on stirring the pot? I can't for the life of me see any point whatsoever in starting this thread, other than to stir the pot. What does it freaking matter? Go find a cache, the sun will still come up tomorrow, and it still won't matter in the least. If you have a point, then make it. If you don't, then drop the spoon and get out of the forums. I agree. Please put us out of our misery so we can go back to discussing geocaching rather than how many ways can you split a hair follicle. I don't remember requiring either of you to post in this thread...or even read it. You've had your point and made it. I can't for the life of me see any point whatsoever in continuing the AS thread, other than to ramble on. As to why it might matter, I decided to solicit the opinions of people on a specific topic. That's really all a *FORUM* needs. The forum is not geocaching; I did some of that today as well. Keep your posting out of business it doesn't even want to be in! Now, please refrain from posting off-topic in this thread. This is not the first time I've asked this already and yet it continues to occur without moderation. The little dots in the envelopes on the left are not miniature smilies/"Found It" logs...you need not contribute to every single thread. The forum is big enough for this topic and all of the ones where people post pictures of their dog out geocaching. If you have a request of me personally, feel free to find the PM button. Now go about your geocaching discussions and never come back here again unless you'd like to discuss the topic at hand. That really isn't all that hard. Please control yourself in the future. I have a request: Tell us what the point of this thread is. What exactly are you trying to get across? I have read more rambling and riddle-talking from you in this thread than I ever have in AS, so don't even go there. Spit it out, son.....what are you trying to say?
  8. The finder in question says he will not log the find even after I make it a regular non-MOC. So, no need to delete it Moot point. But, thanks for the support . . . you were being supportive weren't you?? Uhhh....yeah, I think I was....I dunno, my mood changes from post to post.......and stuff.
  9. Sparky...he can't log it online if he's not a paying member, so there is no log to delete. Unless you want to tear the page out of the logbook Oh, yeah....well, then, by golly start tearing pages!!!!!!!

  11. Yeah, I think exclusionist is a better term. Geo Ho, if you were actually being elitist (or exclusionary, I suppose), you could delete the log of the cacher that found it while not being a premium member. Right? I mean, you put your cache out for members only, and since you know he wasn't a member, then you would be justified in deleting his log. Looks different that way, eh?
  12. Yeah, like Microsoft, for instance......oh...wait.....bad example. Or was it?
  13. Like the infamous "WOW" factor? No, the WOW factor is in place to keep the number of virtuals low until such time as the site has the server capacity to handle them. It won't happen overnight, and I've been told not to expect it this year Where'd you get that? My understanding was that the "WOW" factor was to prevent tennis shoes and dead bird carcass virtuals, not just to limit the actual number of virtuals. It was to prevent the lame ones, not just numbers, in other words.
  14. You know what I am hearing from you? Blah blah blah....SURE they listen to the caching community...that's why we can't list Virtuals or Locationless anymore, and more rules are being pushed on us everyday... So you say that geocaching will grow, then you rip others for starting up different caching sites, saying they are acting "godlike"....well, which is it? You can't have it both ways, so make up your mind: is it a good thing or not? Yes, geocaching WILL grow, to other sites that one day will be linked together and truly free up caches and return the listing power to the cache owner. Ya know, I read the rules when I first started, and have read them several times since, and they are the same as they were the day I started. Nothing has been added that I know of since November of 2003. Even as a sock puppet, making generalizations such as that don't help your cause, and making completely false, intentionally misleading generalizations is even worse. As for Harrald's comments, I couldn't agree more. Harrald and I have had our differences, as most of you know, but he speaks the truth here, and speaks it well. Much as I hate him, I've got to give him a pat on the back for that post. He did, however, leave out one other important faction: those who start a thread asking for something simply for the purpose of stirring the pot. Maybe one of these days, TPTB will implement a rule against bringing spoons into the forums.
  15. Is it really so hard to answer a question? From my point of view, you don't know what the issue with the cache is because you flew off the handle instead of politely answering the question. I suspect if you had answered the question politely and with respect, you would know what the issue is, and quite possibly would have had the cache approved, and wouldn't have the need for this (yet another) rediculous thread bashing an approver who was working for you and the community. But, instead of just answering the question and explaining that it was your property, you pretty much got what you deserved, IMO. How is asking what the issue is flying off the handle? Just judging from the entire tone of your posts in this thread.....I call that flying off the handle. And you keep avoiding the question....why was it so hard just to answer a simple question?
  16. Oh, that is the worst!!!!!!!! I hate wiper systems like that!! I'm working on re-wiring my Jeep so that I can use the washer fluid independently of the wipers. What idiot thought that up? Try to get that mud, or that splattered bug off your windshield and all it does is smear it all across the windshield, then gets it wet.....pointless!
  17. Well, this thread is a prime example of why I prefer to cache out in the rural areas, and why I hide my caches in remote, rural areas. I know there are a lot of cachers that love the thrill of stealth tactics to get an urban micro, but not me. Part of it is I don't want to have to explain myself, part because I don't want to look like a loony, and part because I don't want muggles to have any clue whatsoever that there's a cache over there under that bench at the bus stop on the busiest corner in the largest city in Kansas. I guess a lot of it is really because I was born and raised in a small farming community of less than 1000 people, and pretty much everything I've ever done and enjoyed involved remote, rural locations.
  18. Is it really so hard to answer a question? From my point of view, you don't know what the issue with the cache is because you flew off the handle instead of politely answering the question. 19. Super!! To grab a TB, go to the cache page it's listed on, click on the TB (in the upper right corner or thereabouts), then on the TB page, click on the "Add a Log Entry" link in the upper right corner, on the next page, in the "Type of Log" drop-down list, click on "Retrieve from XXXX". You'll need to enter the TB # after that in order to actually get it to show in your possession. Good luck!!
  20. So, now more of the story comes out. Without a couple dozen markwells, let me remind you that bashing an approver by saying they have a personal grudge against you isn't the best way to go about resolving an issue. You are still implying that the approver insulted you and made rude comments, yet we have no evidence of that here. Still sounds to me like this could have been resolved had you simply answered the question. Why don't you want to answer the approver's question? Will the answer you give make your cache unapprovable? Sounds like maybe that's the case, to me. Trying to slip one past the approver and got nailed on it, but still trying to avoid the issue. Here's another suggestion: Answer the question he asked, then report back to us with the response. Include the question, your response, and the response from the approver. Otherwise, drop it and close the thread. One last bit of advice: Next time you open a thread complaining about unfair treatment, come forward with all the information, not just your biased view. Folks that have started threads like this in the past have always left out key points of the issue, biasing the thread against the approver. Once the full story is known, they end up looking rather foolish.
  21. Can you post a link to one of the TB's? If you haven't completely filled out the TB's mission page, it will not show as being activated and won't show in your possession. I had the same problem when I got some tags when I first started caching.
  22. If it is a public bridge with no restrictions on use, I would have told him, "Why don't you go ahead and call the police right now? I'd love to file a harassment report on you" Unfortunately, you can't file a harrassment report on someone for making a "good intent" call to the police. That is to say, if the gentleman honestly felt you were doing something wrong, it is his constitutional right and duty to report it. After so many calls from the same guy about the same thing, the police will simply ignore him, and bump his complaint to the bottom of the response queue.
  23. And why doesn't the OP tell us what the REAL emails from the approver said, including the question that they refused to answer, and why they refused to answer it? As was mentioned, 99.5% of these type of threads all have a side that the OP doesn't want to let out. Once it's out in the open, it becomes obvious that the approvers were doing their job, and the OP was in the wrong.
