  1. Well since what he wrote was in the public domain and not a private message to you why not scan the log and provide a link to it - I would! Did he have reason to disapprove of the cache (not conforming to GS guidelines) ? Trev
  2. How Ironic that I should know the answer and flick to the quiz thread at the right time - I HATE DIE ANTWOORD with a passion. So the next question will have nothing to with DIE ANTWOORD but every thing to do with the answer. What is recognised as the worlds hottest chilli pepper and its not any type of habanero not by any strecth of the imagination? And for bonus points what is the Scoville rating? This is the heat rating. Tabasco rates at about at about 5000-6000 and habeneroa at about half a million Trev
  3. The Ninja from "Die Antwoord" has been part of several music groups in the past, what was his most famous group besides "Die Antwoord" Max Normal?
  4. Thanks ZB - but your second hint means nothing to me (at the moment) and at this stage lots of others too! My brain has shutdown I am afraid well at least as far as these ingenious geocaching puzzles go! Good one to have perplexed so many for over a week! Trev
  5. Congrats to the Team - I guess after a few others have cracked it the methodology will be forthcoming in hints maybe at Cape Docs event on the 13th or thereabouts! Trev
  6. 451 incorrect and now one correct for Blank Page Does not sound like a whole lot of reasoned think - more like a lot of wild guessing I wonder who the lucky person is and if they did work it out or got a lucky guess - how did they even base their guess? How have people based their guesses I think we could have some frank discussion now as we all know as soon as someone solves ithe solution flows as hints are given and private emails are exchanged - and if it is a real spoiler you can always ROT13 it. Well done to the mystery puzzler for cracking this one! Perhaps ZB woudl give a hint as to what direction to take to solve this one now that it has been cracked/guessed. Trev
  7. We have entered a good chunk of the Blank Page geo checks to date. If anyone is interested in pooling ideas give us a shout. Is my suspicion correct then - as you seem to be blindly guessing - theres over 230 guesses which pouts this at one of the worst guess to hit ratios ever (assuming there was one correct guess at tthis stage) nevertheless it seems you have been close - but which guess!!! I am not even close tot he point where I could go to the geochecker and think of something to type in yet And Zambesiboy's new clue is just as meaningless to me as the whole thing. But then again I have let some of the simpler and more obvious puzzle caches pass me by so I am not surprised Ican see nothing here either - to that end I will send you a pm asking for a nudge in the direction you are taking!
  8. De ja vu may be - or maybe rotsip just read the forum and reacted. Whatever! I got a reviewer note mentioning this cache has been disabled for ages and to either archive or enable it - so day the horse will drink from the fountain - replacement cache in my pocket and I am on my way to replace it now!
  9. Is anyone planning to attempt this series tomorrow on Boxing Day - I want to but prefer cahcing with others - especially on a series like this when I have already had 2 DNFs first time round. I'll b eup and about fairly early and should be able to fit in the 2 or 3 hours or so any time - may be some lunch in Simonstown afterwards - reply here or PM me. Cheers trev\
  10. Yes well done Capeccr for stealing the thunder (excuse horrible pun) from the Hounds of the South. I too ventured about but gave up soon after for lack of motivation and horrible conditions. But I did find one 2nd to Capeccr and that was good enough for and worth the 60km round trip to say I had snatched a cache before Zambesiboy and the others in their very backyard!!!! Nice series Andy which I will be back soon to complete. trev
  11. You can lead a horse to water but ... you can't make it replace a cache you need to see this to understand - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=d7de1cf8-7566-4092-ac7c-f1902a074525 trev
  12. blank page blank mind how people have even guessed final coords is beyond me - or do people scour google earth and just guess? yes people my own puzzle is fomenting in my mind....
  13. It won't be - they will have finally decided the best way to save the earth woudl be for them to not fly all over the world emitting huge amounts of carbon and wasting money and time and rather use the cash to plant some trees.
  14. Bolt cutters? I very much doubt that the key is for residents only - they probably just say that to try and discourage others - the residents do not own Table Mountain - nor do SAN Parks for that matter - maybe bolt cutters will be required one day.....the mountain should be free for all. I had been wondering about those gates as I grew up in Willow Road and there were not locked gates back then -the times they have a'changed! Trev
  15. Not sure if there was a guild for them but were they not woodsmen of some kind - I have read about them too as I have a mate who uses the word and I looked it up once. Log cutter, or someone who works felling trees or maintaining related equipment or something along those lines - since I am not able to provide much more info than that I am off to google it as this is killing me - if I am right enough so be it - if not I will not be eligible to answer this question again.
  16. I have just loaded this app and it has crashed three times - I am very new on the mac - less than a week so I am not sure - however it seems to old software and it may have a problem with lion - I have got it downloading the waypoints from my gps (garmin nuvi 200) that were loaded with the help of GSAK and POILoader that i run in a virtual machine under Linux. That is a very viable solution and that is what I intend doing on my mac till I find an app I am happy with or till GSAK works with wine. SInce CLyde has expressed no interest in getting his app to Mac/Linux we just have to hope and pray that as wine improves GSAK may magically start to work I downloaded and use VirtualBox as it is the virtualization software I am familiar with and have many vms for - so it was a matter of copying across my vdi disk image and setting up a new vm on the mac. There are other solutions but they may cost some money whilst VirtualBox is free. You could also use BootCamp or other methods of booting the mac to windows - but I find vms much easier as I do not have to reboot the mac! Good luck Trev
  17. Both ticks are from me btw... Wanted to look at geochecker again on site. Anyway... If you think you know where it is, then it's probably there... Play with the east on your answer. As for Article 360... based on the conversation you were having with others on Facebook, I'd say you have all the information required to solve it. And Magnum... Well now that seems to be the big stickler in the Cape. Haven't seen a cache go unlogged on the peninsula for that long... ever. My brain is worn out I think and I guess I will have to wait for Cownchicken to solve this one and then tag along with them like I have done before Same for Article 360 and Magnum! Well done to those that have this figured out and to zen for obscuring the puzzle that has to be solved - I say again I see no puzzle - I have followed what I believed to be clues but nothing jumps out at me! I'll get my own back as I mentioned in the first post in this thread Trev
  18. BLAST! The cache has been logged - well done Brian - this puzzle is not that easy or else more than 2 people would have solved it! Well I guess there will soon be talk of how to do it or perhaps a clue from Zen! Trev
  19. Well your geochecker is showing 1 correct guess but no logs yet - and I can't even begin to think on what the puzzle is? Pixel and possum make no mention of solving the puzzle so I wonder if they misread the cache and were searching for it at the listed coords? I was thinking I might have to pay a visit to each of the caches listed for a clue as I can't glean anything from their respective pages and logs - unless I am missing the obvious - which is most likely the case. will be watching this one with interest. trev
  20. Team Zenboom has presented a puzzle that I can't see! Magnum has remained unsolved for a while and if anyone is close they are not saying much Article 360 still has me confused. Not to mention Too bad I hid a boot, the number crunches and dogs breakfast - and all the other on Puzzle Ridge! I am busy thinking up my own multi-puzzle cache so beware all you puzzlers out there. Then I can sit back and have a laugh! I will be watching zens cache as it is very close to my home coords....... Trev
  21. Looks pretty cool - now at least there is a reason you are doing 200 caches in short sequence - you are making geo-art! trev
  22. Well done to ipodmusicman for attaining his 100th cache on one of mine - Of Grave Concern - and for leaving a voice log recorded in the field with his smartphone! Trev
  23. Love It! Good on it for sticking it to the man! Trev
  24. Myself and Goofster and Cownchciken are meeting at the McDonalds near Kenilworth Centre at 8:45 on Sunday morning and then proceeding to the start at the Ottery Hypermarket. Feel free to join us - there must be quite a few of you geocachers with bikes or scooters - just bring yourself and toy and have some fun! Check out http://www.toyrun.co.za/ to see if there is a Toy Run near you and go for it!!!! If you are prepared to take a pillion you can mention that I have a KLR 650 and am happy to have a pillion - you will need you own helmet etc and a toy! Bike is rated for 180kg so make sure you are less than 90kg!! You'll have to get to Mickie Ds yourself and be prepared to make your own way back from Maynardville if necessary - I can pick you up if its not out of the way from Observatory Trevorh7000
