  1. The only problem that may exist with this is that an (unsecure) email link would allow changes to be made to your profile. The other links just show data, but do not change user settings - perhaps there could just be a link to your watchlist page (if there isn't already)? AJK
  2. IMHO, a perfect solution. It would be nice to have GSAK change the icons for a micro vs. larger, but that's a GSAK thing. Voted a definite No.
  3. DNF, plain and simple - you were not looking for a location, you were looking for a cache. A DNF also alerts future finders of the possibility that the cache is missing.

    Forum Searching

As mentioned, the forum search is not as good as google. However, google does produce slightly better results. In the google search box add: site:http://forums.Groundspeak.com then your keyword - here's the search for mac Bizarrely, the first time I checked DPM, it brought up one thread (in german), but now it will not display any results. Anyway - try google out....
  5. I use PQs quite a bit - especially when I travel on vacation or with work. As such I may set up 3-5 queries (different areas on my visit) When I'm dealing with the PQ main page, I'd really like the ability to quickly change when they are delivered -currently my browser has a 2-3 sec wait between each click - it would be great if you could do all of the changes, then click a submit changes button. Equally, when I come back, and want to delete them, it would be good to have a column on that main page where I could select multiple PQs for deletion. Thanks, AJK
  6. Not in any way - By marking it as a find, you don't alert future finders/the owner that there's a problem, unless they take the time to properly read the log.
  7. A bag containing an iraqi bank note, an Afghanistan note, and a Yugoslavian note. A railway spike A star chart that I used to paint the constellations onto my son's ceiling with glow in the dark paint.
  8. gpsgeek has cheap cables (though shipping is a little expensive) - I got a car adaptor/PC combo cable from them - do you not download waypoints/maps to your legend on a regular basis?
  9. Camera's are not immersion rated. Some GPSrs, including the one here, is. Are you usually this rude?
  10. Kind of cool because my mum (sk_godstone) was the last to visit (even though she didn't complete it). When we met up with her last week in Tahoe, she mentioned how she had been speaking to a ranger about this cache...
  11. Key to love will likely not be affected. Matanzas will be if there is a high storm surge.
  12. If you're sure that the cache is on the posted property or if there is no access to the cache except through the posted property - archive
  13. Looks good - how does it respond to immersion/wetness? I like not having to worry about keeping my Legend dry.
  14. To help offset printing costs, you could talk to outdoor equipment manufacturers about them sponsoring a month - they could include a small advert, or rebate redeemable in that month. One of the things we do for the our calendars (inside view, pdf) is include tips. We also provide stickers for shiftworkers to use - maybe there could be something similar in yours (caches found (series of numbers - may be difficult to finders with lots of caches, anniversaries (personal), etc.) Just some ideas, AJK EDIT: Be careful about the number you print (overestimating demand - though I'm sure you've considered this)
  15. The Key to Love is a nice traditional in a nature preserve. One of the first caches I found - Matanzas Cache is also just off the busy Fort Myers Beach area. There are also a couple in the area that are only reachable by boat.
  16. It would be interesting to be able to sort a list of caches by average length of log. Imagine you were going to a new area on vacation - enter the zip code, find all caches within 10 miles, then sort by length of log - you'd probably get a pretty good representation of the which caches are the best in the area...
  17. Maybe the answer is to have some sort of checkbox on the cache submission page: Are the coordinates given the coordinates of the final cache? If this is checked then the submitter can use the "traditional" classification. Otherwise they have to choose mystery or multi. There is no need for extra information - we just need cache submitters to use the correct designation. What's to say any other system will result in cache owners complying? AJK
  18. This would really cut the size of my PQs down (I presume) which would be good.
  19. If you feel the the cache is missing, and the owner is not responding - that's what the SBA flag is for. Many of the difficult caches could have many more than four DNFs w/o there being a problem.
  20. I'll be there with my family on vacation next week, along with my parents (also cachers). We are looking forward to doing some of the caches mentioned here...
  21. Download a version of winzip for 95. Open winzip, then open your file and unpack the cachemate files. Install them on your palm via the hotsync.
  22. I'd like this - it would be very useful when you've hit multilple caches in one area in a day.
  23. With all due respect, juggler, get to the point. There must be an underlying problem that you have with the site/Groundspeak that you want to discuss. Cut to the chase and let's discuss these issues.
  24. legends - on amazon $160. $30 rebate = $130 with cable
  25. I use a this visor - very good for caching - keep looking
