  1. I'm having problems with this. It says file not recognized when i try to down load it to my phone... and now i cant view information on other caches using the old version, it'll give you their id GC???? but the co-ords are all zeros and there is no discription of the cache! Has anyone else had this problem or am i having a crap attack (i happens you know) Mart
  2. Thanks Dan for the event. Even though i had missed most people by the time i got there it was still nice to put faces to names. Mart
  3. Well done you guys...and thanks for all your caches! Mart
  4. I managed 37 in one day...around the parks and canal, the thing that helped was the weather wasn't that great....you have to take the rough with the smooth...nice weather=millions of people about, crap weather=parks to yourself...nearly. Some benches were still occupied but when you sit right next to someone whilst there are empty benches all around you..they get a bit uncomfortable and go else where....didn't like doing it but when you're on a mission you dont have time for them to take all day. Mart

  7. Hi there, Check the garmin web site for software updates for YOUR gps. I've got an etrex legend it to kept turning off, the latest software update claimed to fix that and a few other problems. Downloaded the update from their web site and uploaded it to my gps...... it did what it said on the can... no problems now. Hope this works for you. Mart
  8. RIGHT!!! Sorted!!!! Have been trying to do this for quite a while (months)......just mucking about about with Ollies Dad (ON THE PC!!!!!!!) and when he moved the mouse pointer over my username on the POST it brought up my user ID number at the bottom of the screen.....different from all the numbers i'd seen up till now.....entered the number on my phone...it now filters my finds BEAUTIFULL Mart
  9. I'm using the java function of my Nokia5100 mobile for downloading cache pages (care of the geocacheuk.com web site)...it offers the function to filter finds by entering in the number(s) at the end of your USER ID url. I've entered this number (i think) but it still shows all 10 caches found/not found closest to my selected co-ords. Does anybody else use this application and successfully filter out caches already found and if so....how did you do it?????? Many Thanks Mart

  13. I was pulled up by plain clothes police in a park in London (England)....I was recovering a micro cache on a piece of string down a drain.....there were people in the park but they were a long distance away....these people were police though, and although i thought i was being discrete they thought i was suspicious. They came over and asked what i was up to and explained who they were, i told them what i was upto, luckily i had the cache page with me to help explain as they had never heard of geocaching before. They weren't too bothered, although they did ask me to disable the cache because of hightened security and they didn't want people fishing things out of drains. Good to see they are security aware .
