  1. Thank you very much for the congrats and the coin! I am still shaking my head in amazement. Maybe I should go play the lottery.........
  2. I'm not really sure. I read the post about bands being close, your avatar is a crow so I started thinking about banding birds and then homing pigeons came to mind. Wierd, huh.
  3. Raced homing pigeons while talking on a CB radio.
  4. Although I love and have all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books I would have to pick "Little House In The Big Woods" as my favorite. Even when I was young the self reliance and family life was an enticing vision. The way she describes how they lived and survived made me yearn to do the same. I remember one store when I was growing up in the 60's where they had home made soap balls, real beef jerkey, and rabbit pelts. Needless to say that this was my all time favorite store and I just recently had to throw away one of the pelts. I want to make the maple syrup on snow and go places in a horse drawn wagon or sleigh. To live "off the grid" is my idea of heaven. Although I do live in the country, I still would like to have my little log cabin in the woods. Until then I will just settle for listening to the wind howl during the winter and snuggling under the quilt I made.
  5. My coin arrived today and I love it. Thank you for such a nice job!
  6. When I was growing up the day after Thanksgiving (before it was called Black Friday) we would go Christmas shopping and Dad would stay home to do the lights and tree. It never failed that we would come home to the faint smell of electrical smoke, at least one fuse blown, and various burn marks on the carpet from Dad testing the lights. Unfortunately (maybe not) I have not been able to recreate this tradition since Dad passed! Too bad they don't have an air freshener or candle in burnt wiring!
  7. No, no I am not an addict. I've only tried it a couple of times I swear! But today my Celtic Peacock arrived and I found myself looking for more: lurking around eBay, cruising the coin sites, you know how it is....
  8. Got mine ordered. What a nice coin!
  9. Well mine came in during the night but when I went to update my cache stats it is the same query as 1 week ago. No updates. Talk about frustrating.....
  10. OK, I feel better now knowing that I am not the only one this is happening to.
  11. Started on May 23 2008 At 2 months we had 94 and on August 3rd we got our 100 finds. It took 72 days.

    DNF'S

Thank you for your response. This was also my first really serious attempt at a FTF. I did receive a nice email from the cache owner stating that they placed it 15 minutes after I left, but I now have no desire to go back for the find. Thanks again.

    DNF'S

What is peoples opinion on this one. Would you log it as a DNF if you went to a newly posted cache. looked for over an hour only to discover even though it had been posted the cache hadn't been placed yet?
  14. Hi, I'm Sue from Northern Bradford County. We've been doing this for a couple of months now. Saw the term geocaching in a GPS class notice and Googled it to learn more. Said to myself, that sounds like fun and have been hooked ever since.
