Doing some spring cleaning, and I am in need of a low end GPS for the kids to share. jpred1 Yes the orginal buyer used the CD, and then gave it to me. It works great, the only problem is that I need the CD to run the program to download maps, so at this time I am not going to part with it. Sorry, The Miller Family

I am not sure on the copyright thing. I think if you purchase the software from someone you are also buying the rights. My software is second hand, and it worked fine. Miller Family

Cookiedoe: I just finished downloading a region from Mapsend Direct Route Vs 2 to my Explorist 500. Worked just fine. Just make sure you follow the directions with using the Magellan Conversion Software. I would also suggest using a SD card reader for transfering files. I attempted with the SD in the gps, however it came up with an error message. (I think the file may have been too big) When I slipped the SD card in the reader it worked just fine, and I could not believe how fast it downloaded. Hope that helps. Miller Family

I am not sure. Everything I have read states that the Mapsend for Meridian does not work with Explorist.

Quite frankly, I have no idea what I am trying to do. I just know that when I am on a log page I click on the icon that states Download LOC. Then after that I have no clue what to do. Miller Family

OK I am an idiot. I have been sitting at this computer for 2hrs attempting to figure out how to use the Geocaching Manager program that came with my Explorist 500. I have been attemting to do the loc. down load from the log page, and then add it to the manager. I am doing something wrong, because this is not working properly, so I think. Can anyone shed some light on how to make this thing work. I have attempted to search the forum for tips, and have not been very successful. Any help would be great. I would like to set up my new GPS so I can head out in the morning. Thanks in Advance, The Miller Family

OK I know that his may be a long shot, but I always figure it never hurts asking. I just updated to a Magellan Explorist 500 from a Magellan Meridian. The Mapsend program I have is Mapsend Streets & Destinations USA Version 4.0, and only works with the Meridian Series. I am in need of the Mapsend version that is compatible with the Explorist. I would be willing swap someone for the one I need for the one I have. Or if someone has one for sale I would be interested in knowing what your price would be. Every penny I spend has to be approved by my Certified Home Accountant (wife). Thanks for any input.
